Ward happy to be playing at Rosslyn Park behind closed doors

London Broncos Head Coach Danny Ward is happy to be playing behind closed doors games at the clubs First Team Training venue Rosslyn Park and described it as a “big advantage” whilst speaking to Broncos media on Sunday.

 

The Club have had to keep information of the venue for behind closed doors games under wraps for some time due to the Covid approval process implemented by the RFL which included approval from the local Council for Rosslyn Park but Ward was just pleased to have it sorted and his wish to play at the South West London facility.

 He said “It can only be a positive for us to be able to play there. It is our training pitch and our first team base, so to be able to play on this surface could be a big advantage for us.”

 

As the club build towards their first competitive game for over a year Ward was content with how Pre-Season had gone, despite the obvious restrictions, and was looking forward to starting with a Betfred Challenge Cup tie.

 Ward said “It’s been really good, we’ve been building each week, increasing intensity and putting the boys under pressure and we are seeing improvements right across the park. The boys are just itching to get out there and play, nothing comes close to playing competitive matches, and there is nothing better than a cup game to start with.”

 

Our opponents in the Cup, Keighley, have had the benefit of a competitive run out this weekend when they faced Bradford in a friendly, watched by Ward, but despite seeing a positive performance from the Cougars the Broncos Head Coach said nothing had changed for him by viewing on Saturday.

 He said “I watched the Keighley game and it is great to have Our League to be able to watch games at the moment,  I have said previously that they will be one of the top sides in League 1 this year and they showed that.”  Ward added “We will be focusing on ourselves, not the opposition, it’s about our style of play, the basic principles and all that we have worked on in pre-season, that will will be our focus as we lead up to the game on Saturday.”

 

Broncos fans who are not Season Pass holders do not have to miss out this Saturday. You can get the game through Our League for the amazing price of £4.95 until Friday and then £10 on the day of the game. Pass holders will be sent their codes this week in advance of the game and we will have a guide to assist you with the viewing of the game.

 In the coming days we will also be able to update Season Pass holders on the venue for our 2021 Home games once Crowds are able to return.
