Wigan Warriors are saddened to hear of the passing of former player Glyn Shaw at the age of 71.

Shaw played 63 games and scored two tries for Wigan as a prop forward between 1981 and 1984.

The Wales and Great Britain international signed from Widnes to join Wigan, he also played for Warrington and Rochdale during his career.

Gaining Heritage Number 778, Shaw made his debut for Wigan in November 1981 when Wigan beat Fulham 15-14. He featured for Wigan in the John Player Cup Final in January 1983 – Wigan’s first trophy in nine years at the time after a 15-4 win over Leeds at Elland Road.

Everyone at the Club sends their deepest condolences to Glyn’s family and friends at this very sad time.
