longboard Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 Luke O'Donnell has left Huddersfield Giants and is returning to Australia. He only played 30 times for the Giants, owing to injuries. He was good when he played. The press release is pretty explicit about the impact of stopping the payment of pensions offshore for foreign sports people et al and its importance in his decision. It is said in the Aussie press that O'Donnell will be joining the Sydney Roosters and his deal will be at a lower salary than he got at Hudds. Presumably the pension arrangements will be more beneficial for him though. Hudds haven't got a fee for him. http://www.giantsrl.com/news/article/2152/odonnell-leaves-the-giants His move will free up some space in the salary budget. Maybe Hudds will sign another prop forward, rather than a second rower. Seriously though, cover in the half back positions is needed. Any suggestions?
