U12 Lancashire Cup Final - Leigh Miners 6-25 Blackbrook

Blackbrook clinched the U12 Lancashire Cup with a deserved 25-6 win against a spirited Leigh Miners side.

Jack Welsby and Danny Eden claimed two tries apiece in an excellent display of attacking rugby.

Welsby opened the scoring just four minutes but a missed conversion left the score at 4-0.

It didn't remain that way for long however as Eden sprinted in for a brilliant try which was converted by Ryan Forshaw.

Welsby then danced his way over for his second to give the Royals a comfortable 16-0 half-time lead.

Miners had a fair share of possession and looked likely to get back in it but Eden broke on half-way for a long-range try to take the score to 20-0.

Brandon Scully put the icing on the cake with the Royals sixth and when Miners finally found their way over through Callum Coleman, Forshaw struck a sweet drop-goal.

U13 Lancashire Cup Final - Newton Storm 0-22 Blackbrook

Blackbrook continued their dominance winning the U13 Lancashire Cup against Newton Storm.

The Royals led 4-0 at half-time but could have been further in front had they been able to convert more of their territory.

But L Martin, who was later announced as the Man of the Match, scored two tries within three minutes in the first five of the second half, to seize control.

P Nash found his way over three minutes later and despite a missed conversion, Blackbrook held a healthy 18-0.

Blackbrook were just as respectable in defence and managed to deal with everything thrown at them so to not concede.

Martin sealed his hatrick two minutes from time to seal the 22-0 win.

But Jack May hit back for Moorfield immediately to tie the scores, after Eddy Conner's conversion in an absorbing affair.

Latchford led 10-6 by the break thanks to Charlie Phythian who spun his way over from dummy-half.

Phythian scored the match winning try also and at that time, Albion led 14-6.

Moorfield's O'Ashall sparked a nail biting conclusion but inspiring defence won Latchford the game.

Crosfields completed the day holding off a determined Halton Hornets performance to win the U17s Lancashire Cup Final.

It took 20 minutes for the first try of the game which came in the form of Crossfields scrum-half, Ryan Connelly.

Luke Cunningham worked his way over seven minutes later to give his side a 12 point lead.

But Halton hit back immediately through Alex Smith to trail by only a try at the break.

Ben Steele intercepted a pass to go 60 metres and restore a 12 point deficit before Alex Mellor made it 18-10.

The Hornets were within four points through Callum Edwards and with 20 minutes to play, a comeback was quite possible.

But Cunningham grabbed his second of the afternoon and Ryan Connelly converted to make the full-time score 24-18.
