Scrum half Jordie Hedges is adamant that the Dons will kick on sooner rather than later and says that the win over Hemel Stags last weekend gave the team the buzz back.

The former NRL player is also confident that the side can achieve the goals that they set out to reach at the start of the 2017 Kingstone Press League One season.

“There was a real buzz in the changing rooms after our win over Hemel and we all know that we must get our heads down and kick on,” said Hedges.

“The group has responded to the win in positive fashion as you would expect and it is up to us now to go on and make sure that we can keep picking up points and achieve the goals we set at the start of the season.

“It was a massive result for us and it is good to get back to winning ways, it was all we spoke about all week and how we just had to concentrate on ourselves, now we can take that confidence into the game against Keighley.

The Dons face Keighley Cougars at the Keepmoat Stadium on Saturday and Hedges wants to record a win over them and maintain in the driving seat for a top four finish.

“All the boys know how huge this game is, we have been talking about it all week and it has been a real good week in training as well,” said Hedges.

“They are only a point behind us in the table and they are also in the hunt for a top four spot, so this is not going to be an easy game and we will have to be on guard to keep them out.

“Keighley have big, strong middles and we know what they are going to throw at us, we need to win games like this to show how good of a team we have here at Doncaster and I am confident that we can show that on Sunday.”
