Can I just say , I find the increasing use of a simple crash ball on last tackle pretty tedious . To a big degree it’s because of the 7 tackle set and now the contested short drop out . It’s really negative though as a spectacle , you don’t roll the dice you don’t get the reward . It shows to a degree , in the NRL especially , a bit of a risk averse mindset at times . You see some lovely tries of little grubbers . Have a go or you’ll never know as someone said ( me I just made it up ) .I’d scrap the 7 tackle set it’s a terrible pointless rule , and the short drop out is like a shiny new toy with everyone wanting to use it
