  1. The talent is there. Just some clubs are more obsessed with bringing in second rate players from down under rather than working with their young talent
  2. So let’s say you have a bad season and get relegated bet you wouldn’tt be pushing reserves teams for L1 then!
  3. Perhaps not the right forum for this but two leagues of 16 & 18, with automatic promotion and relegation of two clubs to give some life blood to the game as a whole. End of season top 4 play off. But make the league comp the main trophy
  4. Because the Championship clubs cannot see to beyond themselves. They are so wrapped up in their handout from the league that they cannot see that if 4 go down this year to next years L1 then they will be in a mess.
  5. Complete rubbish - would you pay £15 to watch reserves??
  6. https://roughyeds.co.uk/2023/10/big-decision-will-be-made-by-the-rfl/
  7. By equal funding I was referring to the Championship. My point is the current 14 or so of you should all receive an equal share of the pot.
  8. Of course it will survive, especially if all clubs are funded equally. But with a preferential funding to certain clubs then the competition will not be competitive
  9. The final decision at tomorrow’s meeting will be made by the RFL not the clubs. Each club will be given the opportunity to make their case but the RFL will go away and make the decision. This will be announce 1st Nov and as I understand it the decision will be final to allow all clubs to plan for the new season. The Oldham club have just posted the info on their website https://roughyeds.co.uk/2023/10/big-decision-will-be-made-by-the-rfl/
  10. In this instance you are wrong. Each club will be able to have their say but the RFL in this instance will be making the decision not the clubs and the decision will be final. Will he announced 1st Nov so all clubs can plan for 2024 season
  11. BSJ, they can't this time. https://roughyeds.co.uk/2023/10/big-decision-will-be-made-by-the-rfl/
  12. Well done to London, but they should have had equal funding.
  13. No evening up should be required. Give clubs the same money and let then make it work. That way everyone is on an even playing field.
  14. If each L1 club only gets £15k the so be it. It certainly isn't enough compared to the Champ funding. Possibly a bigger issue is the disparity between what clubs in the championship get. Why they should get differing amounts is barmy when clubs in SL & L1 all get the same per club in that league. This means lower clubs in the championship will always be second class to the higher clubs. If finding was equal then this wouldn't be the case.
  15. Please can you and Rovers13 have a separate conversation! This thread is getting hijacked as did the last one. No wonder John Drake s so pee'ed off!
  16. Under the IMG proposals every club will have to have a foundation set up, which is a charity. This is to develop the game. As it is a charity it is eligible for grants. The RFL.can match fund grants raised, as well as local authorities who can access funds for this purpose. Other fund raising can be matched as well.
  17. So the Championship clubs are in favour of expansion so we have a national game, as long as they are not involved? So myopic and selfish!
  18. But this is getting away from the by point, which is the future of the game below SL
  19. If SL was 16 clubs then yes. The whole point of IMGs earlier comments were clubs should do more to be self sufficient and find additional income streams
