SL clubs look to reinstate Nigel Wood.
sheddingswasus replied to The 4 of Us's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
Leigh were prevented from having one. I am fairly certain the Hull clubs had to have a joint one. Oldham stated when the new owners took over that as well as the foundation ( now running very successfully) they wanted to run an academy but the league rules prevented it. Every club should in SL should have them and same with Championship clubs. I read last week we wouldn’t have the players for two additional SL clubs. If we worked harder at development we would and more! -

Totally wrong argument. All clubs should run academy’s. Can you omafnebi. Football saying Man Utd & City have on so Salford, Oldham, Rochdale m, Stockport etc shouldn’t have one. We are back to protecting those who think they are the elite. -
Oldham will!

The meeting to discuss super league apparently is 26th July according to All Out Rugby League

You brought around 500-600 to Oldham. Figures from the club. -
I thought he was but he is named in 21

Also backs will be string. Only choice seems to be Pons or Mo.

I think the pack will be immense tomorrow. Dudson, Wildie, Farnworth, Ashurst, Lannin, Milner, Chappies x2 , ET and Pillissier

I think that rumour originated from a Rochdale fan on the main forum. However it was never substantiated and this is how rumours like this begin.

I would hope Oldham keep him. Good enough for Super League in my opinion

London should be no where near super league. -
Thank you. We are trying to push the profile of the Heritage Trust (which already excellent). The club are working along side us too which is superb. Future events are likely on be on a Friday night, and we have some amazing guests in the pipeline.

Would that not depend on the club entering? If they have the funding why not? -

You must be so out of touch. Look at the crowds against Catalan they are always the lowest. -

Toulouse and Catalans are not attractive to gain home fans. This is the crux of the issue. -

You have got this the wrong way around. The issue is Toulouse are not an attraction to gain home fans. The same applies currently in SL where Catalans generally is all clubs lowest crowd. -

Other podcasts last week were suggesting Oldham would take one of the spots with reduced funding. The likelihood is there would be three spots as Salford are likely to be relegated if they don’t go under. French clubs? I am not too sure. There seems to be a ground swell of opinion against them. It isn’t the fact that they don’t bring any fans, more that they don’t appear to be any attraction to draw home fans. Looking around the forums that seems to be the suggestion ( in the Championship that is, I don’t know about SL) -
Just looking at the fixtures for this week and if York beat Bradford and we win by a decent margin we could go third. Although in the long run a draw mag be the best result. Going to be an interesting match against Sheffield with the potential return of Matty Wildie and Kieron Dixon.Hopefully we will have DC back at stand off and with Ben O’Keefe getting match fit it is looking good. I wonder if Mo will be fit? He has had a terrible time with injuries and it has really spilt his season. He currently has the best strike rate in the league, closely followed by Dixon.
