  2. Superb defensive performance and we were unlucky not to win. Moran and Chapelhow were superb in the middle. The wind was awful so playing any sort of rugby was very difficult. Paga was very dangerous at 6 with is running game. Whittel had a very good game off the bench. Tyrer made a good case to be picked on the wing next week until a dangerous tackle that might rule him out suspended. Rawsthorne had a dodgy start but grew into the game and had some cracking runs. Hate to talk about the ref but he was horrendous. Constantly looking to get involved in the game and the ptb errors were a joke by the end. Thought Parata, Kershaw and Leyland looked very good for London but hard to see them competing at Super League standard as we really could and should have beat them. Considering we didn't play Turner, Kopzcak, Wardle, Craven, Wildie or Mo of our best team and took off Astley, Ellis, Lawton and Taylor at half time not to return it was a hell of an effort. Should be a cracking game next week against a tough Barrow team.
  3. Will do a restart count for the rest of the season if I can get a hold of the videos. I think it was 4 restarts for Fax and 2 for us of the top of my head. I thought the ref was very good and let the game flow even if the PTB was quite slow.
  4. Fax fortunately posted the full game on their youtube. I was the main rugby league analyst at Opta for 6 years before they were bought out a couple of years ago.

  6. Fantastic performance and great start to the new season. Kopzcak, Farnworth and both Chapelhow's were excellent in the middle. Astley was superb in the first half and will be dynamite for us this season. Craven looked very good at stand off and linked up well all across the pitch. Mo was fantastic as well until his HIA in the last 10 mins with great carries coming out of our own end and then 2 magnificent finishes for his tries. Turner was great with the ball but had some defensive issues. Lawton was excellent and really got stuck in all facets of the game. Some defensive issues as is to be expected for a brand new team where some players seemed to want to shoot out of the line trying to put on shots and others held back leaving us exposed a few times especially in the second half. Felt we were always in control of the match but we kept letting them back into the game with small mistakes losing our momentum. Can't wait for next week against London.
  7. I'd go Astley, Rawsthorne, O'Keefe, Turner, Mo, Craven, Ellis, Kopzcak, Wildie, Farnworth, Wardle, Lawton, Taylor. Subs: Paga, Moran, Johnson, J Chaphelhow. Can't wait for this game, Fax have some quality players but I think we can match them in the pack. Oldham by 4
  8. He's class this lad. Might not get a start straight away because of how good Rawsthorne and Mo are on the wing but I think once he gets his chance he'll take it.
  9. Sibson was my first favourite player. Then Roden and Lucas and Adam Hughes even if it was for one season. Then Langtree easily for the last decade.
  10. I think in the last meeting they read the players out in the squad numbers
  11. He was fantastic in the away game against us. Reminds me of Lippy in his stature and style of play making loads of carries and busting plenty of tackles.
  12. Wildie is an excellent and proven championship player. He's not a flash player with loads of great highlights but he'll be perfect at hooker at getting our pack on top of the opposition. The best performance last season against us at hooker was Doncaster away in the play offs. He wasn't the most talented player in the league but absolutely destroyed us with his use of their pack and they steamrolled us.
  13. Lawton will be devastating in League. He's too big and strong.
  14. We heard Wilky and Baker had signed with Widnes a few months ago. Gutted about Wilky as he would have been sensational behind this pack but Baker was very poor. Can't believe the praise for him from others on this board. Cameron tried hard and was very aggressive in defence but made very little impression with the ball. I see Paga as no.14 next season. I agree it definitely didn't work when he went to hooker at the end of the season but I think behind a dominant back he would be unstoppable from dummy half and would be great cover if we get any injuries in the backs. Astley at full back for me with Craven and Ellis in the halves. Delighted about Moran. He was excellent in almost every game. Could easily see him as Captain next year.
  15. Absolutely superb signing. Class half back with a lovely kicking game.
  16. As already said was unbelievable against us in the away game at full back. Very happy with this signing.
  17. Chapelhow is an excellent signing. He was a very decent super league prop at Widnes and was excellent for Newcastle in the Championship
  18. Love Hirst. Could see him becoming a quality championship player in the future
  19. Absolutely love Mo. Quality signing
  20. Awful awful performance. Pack was absolutely dominated right from the first set. Moran tried his best again but the rest were terrible. Massive job to turn this around for next week
  21. Hirst must be close to player of the year. Ah Van, Ridyard and Paga were outstanding at the start but Hirst has been consistent every since he forced his way into the team.
  22. Paga, Rawsthorne, Carr, Morgan , Ah Van, Ridyard, Ellis, Nelmes, Wilkinson, Meadows, Hirst, Whittel, Moran. subs: Slater, Blagbrough, Baker, Newton. McNally hasn't played well for months and shouldn't come straight back into the team. Second row aside from Hirst has been poor all year so I'm moving Whittel there and playing Moran longer minutes. Think we're short on the bench no matter who we go with though
  23. Midlands excellent all game and thoroughly deserved the win. Defence was superb all game. We lacked energy right from the kick off and aside from Rawsthorne and Paga barely caused them an issue all game.
  24. Joe Wardle was there last night and will have a similar deal as Turner being an assistant and still playing next season.
