  1. I can't see how anyone would drop Cas over Wakey I'm afraid.
  2. http://www.redpassion.co.uk/forums/crusade...playoffs-3.html My favourite quote is, "I love football but this game is something else."
  3. This weekend has been one of the best weekends of RL for ages. Kicked off with Sheffield and Leigh playing a dramatic, thrilling game on TV. Today had 2 superb, controversial, exciting until the end, matches with massive crowds with a finish that will go down in history. Then you have an expansion club winning in front of a decent crowd in another dramatic game to make the playoffs for the first time. Add in 60,000 fans so far and you've got a blinder. Unfortunately it will end with probably the least anticipated game of Super League history (Salford vs Wakey) but you can't have everything!
  4. Decent balance there I'd say.
  5. I'd second that. Well done Cru, hopefully you get some good publicity from it across Wales.
  6. What a brilliant RL moment. Well done Keiron.
  7. 24-24 Sounds like a cracker.
  8. Awesome. BBC4 has always been a guilty pleasure of mine. Monday is gonna be superb. What do they mean by 'The game that got away?'
  9. We always seem to be a few years behind the NRL. I wouldn't say 8 years but the game does seem more like an NRL game did a few years ago. The positive and I've been saying it for a while now, is that the NRL seems to have moved to a more skills based game again. Whenever I see it and I watch a lot of the highlights, the tries are often sensational.
  10. Agreed, I've said this before. In places like Widnes, St Helens, Warrington, Wigan, Featherstone, Castleford etc etc it's the rugby club that gives the town it's heart and soul. Without it, all your left with is Runcorn....
  11. I agree. I still think Leeds should have more common sense, seeing as though they only ever clash with one other clubs colours but the RFL should have seen it coming. Wendall even posted about it a few days after the semi finals so it's not like nobody realised it. You could see the difference most of the time but there was the odd occasion from an up and under where it was difficult to see. It was disappointing when reading Twitter to find it was what most people were commenting on, meaning they'd notice that rather than the game. Although it was probably for the best seeing the quality of the game... Actually on a separate point, from reading Twitter it was quite disheartening to see how many people hate RL and feel the need to comment on it when it's on national TV.
  12. So we have a Blue and Amber kit and a Blue and Amber kit. Great! Both kits manage to clash with the only team that they would clash with.
  13. I think we all agree that Warrington should have wore their away kits. However Leeds didn't help matters. Their home and away kits are the same colours but in different amounts. When they play a side that has the same colours it is going to produce a clash no matter what. The Wakefield example isn't perfectly analogous because their kit is predominantly white with both of those colours and Leeds would at least have some different colours in their kit. Most clubs seem to manage having away kits that include some different colours at least. Leeds go from a kit that is 75/25 blue to amber to one that is 85/15 amber to blue. The worst thing is if all clubs in Super League wore their home shirts unless there was a clash then Leeds would only need to swap their kit for the away leg at Warrington. So in effect their away shirt totally fails at the job it was originally designed for.
  14. As much as I fear I'm coming across like I like the Wire, I honestly don't, however they are big contenders this year. In the past few weeks they have beaten the League winners away in a massive game and comprehensively outplayed the current champions at Wembley. There's only Saints who have anything over them and that's only a matter of time.
  15. That makes no sense whatsoever. If 2 kits are so different how can they both clash with one kit? There's an easy way to stop them clashing. Have them as different colours like most clubs would have.
  16. I've been thinking this for some time but a bit part of me thinks that Wire are destined to shake off the Saints voodoo in a big game. Like a Super League Grand Final.....
  17. I think it will be remembered as a poor final. Taking nothing away from Wire who were excellent (as much as it pains me to say), Leeds were dreadful and should have lost by more. It meant the game was effectively over as a contest and it always required a massive turn around from Leeds. It's a shame because it started well with high intensity and the crowd came across really well on TV. The kit clash was just plain silly. I was following Twitter throughout and most people were commenting on the same team playing each other. The RFL needs some common sense and Leeds need to recognise what an away kit is supposed to do.
  18. Sorry Mick but writing in the style of a child doesn't mean that everybody understands it.
  19. Still not found it then Mick? What a pointless reply.
  20. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/rugby_leag..._medium=twitter Further news.
  21. http://www.therhinos.co.uk/news/14782.php I knew they were hard but like a car hitting you at 50mph is a bit too much for my liking! Toughest team sport in the world.
  22. I don't think it's a lost cause by any means. I think Quins is however. Many of their incarnations have had their problems. For instance the first few were not long term enough, so despite high initial crowds they pulled out too quickly. I have a Rothmans were Fulham's average in the second division is higher than the first division average. Since Super League began they have had the problem of being seen as a foreign outpost of Northern and Australian centric RL. They often fielded teams of exclusively Australian players with little youth development or amateur clubs to underpin it. This with the constant moving meant they had no identity of their own. Recently they have been getting things right in certain areas. They are a representation of London RL now and have a good number of locally produced players, some of who have played for England. However they are trapped by the Quins thing. I think they should move again, I don't know where but it needs to be an independent club that they can market independently. I don't think they should have a silly moniker like the Bronco's either but be known simply as London Rugby League.
  23. Of course they would. The tone was meant to be sarcastic as often whenever figures, no matter how dodgy, are questioned people are shouted down for being negative, or having agendas etc. It's usually whenever it involves an expansion club. I know the figures don't look right, but being out of debt is a positive. I would also question exactly why we would fiddle the accounts to have a turnover 2 and a half times bigger than required. If you're fiddling the accounts then surely you wouldn't do it by that much. When Halifax announced their dubious crowd to meet the criteria, they didn't decide to go for a crowd of 11,000!
  24. I'm sure they would as would the majority of Rugby League. Admitting defeat with a London RL club would have bad consequences for the game I think.
  25. Why would they? You're not understanding the point at all. Season tickets make the clubs more money because it guarantees them a certain amount of money from a number of fans. If they didn't offer them the reality would be that they would end up with less money even though the individual games price are more as people would not attend for whatever reason. Almost every ST holder I know doesn't make it to every game. I bought one for my 2 nephews who have probably made a third of the games. Therefore as a business Season Tickets make sense. They provide you with guaranteed income higher than that you would get without them. They also provide it at the beginning of the season, allowing you to plan. NRL clubs have never needed them because of other revenue streams but they are starting to increase them year on year because they are financially beneficial. You have no evidence that Flextickets would increase income, none at all. Therefore suggesting that clubs would somehow be stuck in the past for not using them doesn't work. Clubs will use them if they increase income, if they don't they won't. That's Capitalism. Not all clubs would jump on straight away but the best would and the rest would see the benefit. Say Hull FC sold 10,000 season tickets this year. That's a guaranteed say
