  1. As much as I do like to expand my knowledge of things... sometimes ignorance is beneficial
  2. I'd never heard of them so I've just googled them
  3. I streamed it via firestick. Probably should have mentioned that it my post.
  4. Sledge Hammer! Oh my. Haven't watched this since it aired back in the day. Just rewatched the first episode (pilot) and it still cracks me up. If you liked Police Squad/Naked Gun then you may very well like this as well.
  5. As for tips... Ditch the shorts. Find comfortable and warm clothing, snuggle up with your other (undoubtedly better) half and enjoy her/his company whilst making light of the season. Be sure to take in the sun when it's out and use every opportunity to laugh and enjoy life because there is always someone in a far worse position than you. Be thankful that it's soup season and seek out all the recipes on youtube and give them a go.
  6. Our Central Heating packed in four years ago (Back boiler). We haven't bothered replacing it. We're not as soft as we once were.
  7. I reckon most of you lot could start a fight in an empty room.
  8. So far today I have: 1) Been shopping 2) Done 50 waves of horde and a few mp games on Gears 5 3) Currently on Guinness number 2 of a planned 4 whilst sat outside listening to one of my spotify playlists featuring punk and thrash. Just another thursday
  9. Fantastic 'Crust' band from Gothenburg. Recommended to any Amebix fans on here..(Just me then lol)
  10. “Particularly disappointing was the sustained criticism of match officials over the course of the week." I think most people would accept that to a degree some comments made in the heat of the moment aren't always going to be the most considered but to continue the criticism in the days that follow is IMO worthy of being pulled up over.

  12. Slight tangent here but.... One of the great things about some games is that you get to visit buildings in that space that are often favourable representations of those buildings. In the game 'The Saboteur' for example the setting is occupied Paris and surrounding areas and when/if you get chance to visit some of these buildings in real life it really does add to the experience and gives you a sense of familiarity that you wouldn't get otherwise.
  13. Well... I manage to ignore other people to such an extent these days that this piece of local news had completely passed me by: https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2021/dec/14/plans-for-cemetery-with-35000-burial-plots-divide-lancashire-town
  14. Extremely disappointing (although not unexpected) news. The game over here at this moment really needed the boost a well run World Cup could have given it. The selfish attitude and outright disdain for our game shown by those in power down under is something I will not forget.
  15. I'm very much a glass half full person but I'm finding it harder and harder to be positive about the game these days.
  16. There's 100 bands in it. The usual suspects such as Onslaught, Sabbat, Acid Reign, Xentrix, Re-animater, Lawnmower Deth but also bands that came later ie Shrapnel, Solitary, down to bands that only has a single release but are considered important in the scene.
  17. Just bought 'Contract In Blood' by Ian Glasper. A history of thrash metal in the UK. As a genre UK thrash is often overlooked and dismissed as not being up to the American and German varients so a book like this was long overdue.
  18. I have recently begun reading a series of 'action and adventure' books by an author named Andy Mcdermott. I have already finished the first 4 books and I am currently 200 pages into book 5 'The Cult Of Osiris'. If you are a fan of the Uncharted series of games or Tomb Raider or Indiana Jones then I think you will find a lot to like in these books. The two main characters are very likeable and if myths such as Atlantis and Excalibur tickle your fancy then you will find a lot to like here as they find themselves in conflict with religious sects, shady government departments and others who would quite like to rule the world. Strong sense of humour throughout the pages as they travel the world unravelling clues and ultimately finding the prize. Worth taking a punt on these if any of the above sounds appealing to you.
