  1. Your photos produce a similar response in me.
  2. I dispute the word 'pseudo'.
  3. Only once to my knowledge for rugby and that was the 99 Challenge Cup semi final where whenever London scored they had to cut to the same group of a few hundred fans. Even so I'm visible for about half a second in total. I've been visible on S4C loads though as they always liked to follow Aberystwyth Town and me, Ripken and a couple of others followed them home and away for a couple of years. I especially remember being caught leaping like a loon behind the goal when 'we' equalised at Caernarfon.
  4. Hivings Hill, Chesham. No place for cats. Missing by Jon Smalldon, on Flickr Ilford XP2, Nikon F65
  5. Look, I hear what you're saying but I don't think you're considering the practicalites of the pitch.
  6. Have just docked Boris Bike 15603 at the best-named station on the cycle hire network: Poured Lines, Bankside.
  7. [1] Partially. And to Brentford stiffing us royally. We also didn't sign that many big names at all from overseas and picked up a number of players who nobody else wanted. We should have got more northerners that way too but I believe that it was easier to get lads to travel halfway round the world than it was to get them to move down the M1. [2] They are losing massive amounts of money, there's no doubt. I don't know how it compares but the end result will be the same unless there's an injection of cash. [3] I'd suggest that's because as the Broncos they were occasionally competitive. Something they've managed with overseas has-beens (your phrase) but never with Academy products or majority British sides. Harlequins RL have never made the play-offs in the current incarnation.
  8. And, indeed, the Stoop. The problem with suddenly either creating a ground of 12,000 capacity or doubling the capacity of a non league ground and then re-doing that every two weeks is that firstly it isn't cheap (you can ask Bath RU about that), secondly given the nature of London you have to jump through planning hoops even for temporary structures and especially when you're suggesting a dozen occasions when a few thousands northerners are going to drive in and thirdly I'm not sure that there are a huge number of locations out there where it would be feasible to do it anyway.
  9. London lost money on every game in Brentford and for the privilege had to vacate their home ground for two months every summer. Great relationship, that.
  10. On an another commute I used to make I went past Bounds Green depot quite a lot and they very often had football special trains being put back together on Monday mornings (this was only a few years ago by the way). Cattle trucks basically. But fine if you just want something that's going to get you to the ground and not get in the way of you drinking yourself dull before kick off. I'd go out of the window rather than risk the toilet though.
  11. How about http://www.uklanddirectory.org.uk/land-for-sale.asp?id=11593' target="_blank">9 acres in Hillingdon for
  12. How dare you. The Cock is an excellent pub and a decent pint is under
  13. Given that we're not overflowing with clubs at any level of the game the demise of any team is a disaster.
  14. Not a question one hears very often.
  15. And time. If you started planning today and everything went beyond swimmingly your newly expanded ground would be ready for the 2014 season at the earliest.
  16. Ah, yes. Stadio Olympico (Stratford) (25,000) Also apparently Sutton United has a 7,000 capacity as well.
  17. For you, I suggest The Cock on Great Portland Street. Sam Smiths, you see.
  18. Just for a bit of context, here's a list of all the football grounds in London ranked by capacity. When stating your wild fantasy for which ground Harlequins - or a club renamed to suit your whim - should move to please refer to this list first: Wembley (90,000) Emirates (60,000) Stamford Bridge (42,000) White Hart Lane (36,000) Upton Park (35,000) Selhurst Park (29,000) The Valley (27,000) Craven Cottage (25,700) New Den Stadium (20,000) Loftus Road (18,000) Griffin Park (12,000) Brisbane Road (Leyton Orient) (9,000) Church Road (Hayes & Yeading FC) (6,500) Victoria Road (Dagenham) (6,000) Underhill (Barnet) (5.900) And for the more whimsical amongst you: Majedski (24,000) Stadium MK (22,000) Vicarage Road (19,000) Kassam (12,500)
  19. I'll be in the clubhouse at Chesham United. If you do come along please don't mention the score.
  20. Harsh words.
  21. Like I'd move to Hook (Hampshire).
