  1. there you go Kevin, people with nice things to say about you.
  2. i went to pick up my season ticket yesterday, and i would just like to give a mention to mr preston. he didn't have to clear the snow from my car to the office door, he didn't have to make me a cup of tea and a bacon sandwich, he didn't have to show a rovers dvd while i was waiting for my season ticket. so he didn't.
  3. i see season tickets are now ready for distribution. would it help the clubs finances if we got down there and paid the remainder of our season ticket money a.s.a.p.
  4. in my lifetime i've seen the greatest footballer that ever lived the greatest boxer that ever lived, the greatest national football team ever, the greatest snooker and darts players that ever lived, i've seen england win the football world cup, the r.u. world cup, the r.l. world cup. i've seen the fastest man that ever lived, the first sub 4 minute mile. the list goes on and on, but all the sporting moments that made me feel as if my heart would explode from my chest, made me want to jump 10 feet in the air, made feel like crying(and sometimes did) were given to me by FEATHERSTONE ROVERS and for that i am eternally grateful.

  6. you never know mate, it's a long and winding road. the whole rl operation could go bust and we could all end up back at square one.
  7. george mann tore us to pieces in that second half.
  8. i think the last time i stood in a blizzard watching fev, was the cup match against, i think, skirlaugh bulls, not too many seasons ago.
  9. was it 59 or 60 when we beat st helens in the 3rd round in weather like this. no health and safety in those days.
  10. can't be specific, but derek altass was my mums cousin, and i believe he only played from 1947 1949 before transferring to doncaster on their formation. i thinkcolin mentioned being at that bradford game, maybe he can remember.
  11. fair enough, thanks for the quick response.
  12. may i respectfully request thatl sir Rodney address all ground sharing enquiries to the following newly formed group. the Fundamentally Unofficial Committee of Knights of the Order Featherstone Faithful. i am sure an answer will be forthcoming.
  13. i don't see that a mans (or womans) sexuality is anyones business but their own, and certainly nothing to do with the sport they play. but wasn't this just a bit of banter between suggy and robin.
  14. don't tell peter fox that hanley was never a 6. he always played him there for yorkshire in the war of the roses games.
  15. ryan giggs dad, danny wilson was a very good standoff.
  16. we never had this problem when we had the A team.
  17. in the championship all the top teams go into the playoffs, but in championship 1 (or whatever were calling them these days) the team that finishes top does not. they get no income from playoffs. i don't know if prize money for winning the league out weighs what can be earned from winning the playoffs (prize money +gate money). maybe this comes under the p&r banner.
  18. different rules in different divisions, (playoffs, bonus pionts etc.)
  19. here's a first for you robin. i've always held a grudge against keighley for knocking us out of the challenge cup when we made history by becoming the first junior club to reach the 3rd round. i'm going to let it go now.
  20. goes without saying. thats why i didn't say it
  21. what if, instead of "transfer fee" it was called " compensation". a fee being paid for coaching tuition, use of training facilities etc. it could even be a universal fee, multiplied by the number of years a player has been at the club. anything would be better than nothing. of course something would have to be worked out for players coming the other way from s/l to the championship, but these would generally be players that the club no longer wanted. my head hurts.
