  1. Like a carpet, a nice pristine bowling green for Blackpool to do one over that Athletic travesty on. Eat that Whelan.
  2. It simply mirrors one put yesterday in regards to the widnes vs sheffield game, which was competitive and not just a wash out. Funnily enough you didn't comment on it, although you were full of posts which said near enough the same thing. "It is a poor spectacle I must say" ring any bells? If our game was a poor spectacle then what was that? Bradford are a bad joke.
  3. There was mention of it in the Widnes Programme early on in the season too. That one has been well known for a while now.
  4. The 2500 figure most certainly was because it was even in programmes from earlier this year. It appears at least that one was well known by the clubs before now. Ian Millward reckons Leigh will definitely be getting the 5000 or so needed next game. Free tickets perhaps? Some sort of large scale invitations?
  5. Not a bad idea at all holding it on the first day of the season. No apathy setting in for anyone, people will want to be there because they wont want to miss out on their teams first game, and it will get attention for the season ahead. Could backfire for certain teams though if they lose big in front of everyone.
  6. I don't think it matters who replaces them to be honest. Whoever makes the drop will presumably have had three years of grace in order to sort out their club and have not done it. Considering the difficulties the clubs in the championship have been put under in that time I wont feel sorry for them whatsoever.
  7. What on earth does this have to do with Warrington, eh?
  8. A while back this rather major alteration to the existing rules was brought to the attention of fans everywhere - the RFL, having gone back on promises, stated Toulouse would need to follow the existing rules like everyone else after a not insignificant fuss made in the media. However somewhere down the line quietly the rules have been altered so that any foreign team can bypass the current criteria and enter super league by invitation if deemed necessary. The criteria for super league have also been clarified recently to include specific 2,500 average attendances,
  9. Quite. You might as well blindfold yourself and throw a dart on a worldmap and choose the place it lands rather than put Paris in, and contrary to popular belief Toulouse aren't that much better. They are certainly not a good bet for super league right now, and they have a lot of work to do until this is the case. Asking us whether we want Paris or Toulouse in super league right now is overstepping the massive question mark shaped obstacle of whether we actually think any additional french club is anywhere ready for super league. It's like disregarding all of the people who turned up for a job interview and instead choosing between the two people who didn't and speculating who would have turned up in the best suit if they could have been bothered getting out of bed that day.
  10. When we've finished this thread we can play "Anne Widdecome Shag or Die" and "Which would you rather lose, one arm or both legs?". These best of the worst case scenarios are always hilarious.
  11. I absolutely agree. ------ Honours Championship: 3 Times 1977
  12. Not going to explain it because it's rubbish then.
  13. Have they proved they can be competitive? Most certainly, I would say winning the league is harder than winning the play offs and it goes without saying the northern rail cup so they have proved to be most competitive. That is surely the spirit of the ruling and so yes it should have been box ticked, but there you go.
  14. 1. a third is closer to your compromise. 2. Unfortunately for mick, there is always the chance that Salford start throwing around free tickets like there is no tomorrow just to keep people from thinking they should drop. 3. He has highlighted a bet elsewhere you appear to have not paid. I wouldn't make a bet with you it would be foolish.
  15. Benefit of the doubt to the attacking team surely?
  16. Sadly the case, I didn't go so I'm wondering about the playing conditions, heat or humidity but then I'm reminded of the games we've thrown away so far this season and think its likely just another case of switching off and thinking the game has been won before the whistle has been blown. Absolutely terrible way of thinking and has cost us this season before now. But we got the win, I'll certainly take that.
  17. Away win and no bonus point? Hell yes. Disappointing second half but it's academic. We are back in the play offs.
  18. Are you not going to have a go at him for attacking your club in this outrageous fashion?
  19. I was hoping that might be the case. I'd love it if we ripped SL up with a team full of local lads.
  20. I did hear that Paul Hulme's kid is possibly the best of the lot. You've got a good one there it seems. Personally delighted to see the Hulme dynasty continues.
  21. Don't be pathetic. First off, you said we wouldn't beat Wakefield on the pitch. DURRRRRRR. Don't add caveats. Our academy is full to the brim of Widnesians, we have the odd player from outside the town but the overwhelming majority are home town players. You've done no research in this, you've been trolling for a few days, you've done no research. TROLL. Now behave.
  22. It wouldn't. It really wouldn't. Catalans would be a boost for the game in many ways not least for strengthening the game in South of France and shattering the public perception of a sport which has not progressed from the original clubs who split away in 1895. I'd love it if Catalans won.
