  1. Probably only 3 teams near the M62 in League 1 - Rochdale, Hunslet and Goole...I suppose Keighley is next nearest then Dewsbury ....and Swinton could come down but that would mean Keighley or Hunslet would be promoted. All other teams are a fair distance away. It must be daunting (and costly) for Cornwall to have to travel to Newcastle, Workington, Goole and Whitehaven for 4 of their away games in 2025!
  2. ...if you like long journeys!! I did start to work out how many miles I travelled to watch North Wales Crusaders this year ...reminder that a home game is a 96 mile round trip for me. I gave up counting in March! We had two away trips to Cornwall this season, so thats near enough 1400 on its own!
  3. Listening to the playoff game on BBC Radio Manchester. Hunslet came good with 8 tries and a romping second half. Hornets discipline letting them down. 26 - 46
  4. I think the decision to show the wheelchair game was made a while ago when they announced they were showing a series of 6 games. I was hoping that they may have had permission to show todays playoff game
  5. I was hoping it was going to be on the Sportsman on YouTube....I've just checked and its not on. Nothing on the Sportsman until the League 1 playoff 'final' on 6th October (Keighley v Rochdale or Hunslet)
  6. I was only following the feeds on BBC Sport so no idea if (as it sounds) it was a controversial try (or not). Midlands have done brilliantly this season....its always a shame when it comes to an end.
  7. Great game at Cougar Park.
  8. Great game at Cougar Park. Hornets comeback wasn't quite enough but they certainly didn't leave anything in the tank. Following the other game too - Midlands were up 14-12 but Hunslet scored right at the end to win 18-14.
  9. ...and 146 miles from Stadiwm CSM, Eirias Parc, Colwyn Bay....Welcome to League 1 from North Wales Crusaders
  10. Eagles, Featherstone, Wakefield, TO XIII, Bulldogs, Bulls, Doncaster
  11. Cougars and Hunslet. Sorry to Bearman and Yorks Tim, I think Hunslet will be the end of your fabulous season
  12. Crusaders have been in the playoffs 3 times and got all the way through to the playoff finals last year, beating Workington, Hunslet and Oldham but eventually losing out to Doncaster.
  13. Congratulations to Midlands Hurricanes. 24 - 22 - through the Eliminator and into the next round.
  14. Glad to have Ben playing for us at Crusaders....and a smashing fella off the pitch too.
  15. Good article. Jodie is right....I really hope they don't start splitting the game into a mens league and a womens league. Wales Wheelchair RL and North Wales Crusaders in particular, have been at the forefront of developing players to their potential no matter if the players are men, women or trans...and long may it continue.
  16. Hurricanes, Oldham and Cougars to win. A huge party at Boundary Park (and very well deserved). A big celebration at the Alexander Stadium on Hurricanes reaching the playoffs (Best of luck to them). Cougars to narrowly defeat Hornets to secure the second spot. North Wales Crusaders to win - although the game is a dead rubber, as it wont affect the playoffs, it will give us time to reflect on what could have been, and the exciting prospect of what is to come in 2025. Season tickets go on sale, so I'll be in the queue for one of those. On a personal reflection - I only missed one game this season, home and away; That was a home game vs Workington on Fathers Day. Over the season I met plenty of lovely people in League 1 , home and away; Thank You for your company, your friendly rivalry and for coming to North Wales Crusaders to support your teams. See some of you next year. Good luck and congratulations to those who go up to the Championship.
  17. Last year the nomadic experience was due to the Eirias Park being redeveloped and a new pitch laid. We had one game swithched this year due to a new running track being laid; but you're right. It decimated our crowds
  18. Ralf Roberts, who score two tries in each of the three matches hes played for Wales U16 is from Wrexham, although his playing has been done through clubs in the North West and hes recently signed for Warrinton Wolves. Fantastic prospect and I hope we can get him playing for North Wales Crusaders in the very near future. Ralf, will be like any other prospective players in North East Wales, will most probably be snatched up by scouts from North West England clubs.
  19. Wasn't to be for the Cru this year, but we'll build again for 2025 with a new owner. Congratulations to Hurricanes on getting into the playoff and proving you're no longer the whipping boys. I'll be following the Hurricanes in the play-offs; I may even get along to the game if you're playing in the Alexandra in the first round.
  20. Always Look on the Bright Side of Life by Monty Python
  21. I'll second that! We HAVE to win if we are to have any impact on the play-offs. We need to play like we did at Hunslet in the first 40 minutes last Sunday.... but for both halves of the game!!
  22. I'll be happy to see Wales senior mens team play a home game in Wales. I'd be happy to see them play anywhere. This will be their first game since exiting the RLWC2021 in November 2022...and we have two really important games coming up in France so a warm up game is a bonus. Wales need to be playing far more often
  23. We seem to be playing one good half a game! We were great in the first 40 minutes, and you're right, our completion rate was poor in the second half....and we blew tow clear try scoring chances. Pressure is on now. We HAVE to win the last two games and then have better points difference than Workington to get into the top 6. Not great relying on other results but thats where we are.
  24. We have to beat Rochdale and Cornwall, and end up with a better goal difference than Workington.... and we could sneak into the top six!
