I'd agree with that. It was smart game management and it was then up to Crusaders to break down Yeds defence. Oldham played an intelligent game forcing the game into the Cru half and making us play the length of the field. We were in the game until the drop goal and conceding two tries in quick succession.

I'd love to say "yes" with some certainty but unfortunately they way things have been going at Eirias Park I can't do that. All I can say is our next 3 games will be in Chester RUFC. The pitch at Eirias Park looked finished when I went to watch the Womens game on 11th June...and was supposed to be signed off on Wednesday 14th for insurance purposes. I'm not really sure what the hold-up is. Its very frustrating for home and away fans and even more so for our Directors having to find alternative venues after being promised so much by Eirias Park and Conwy Council.

https://www.northwalescrusadersrlfc.co.uk/post/club-statement-1 North Wales Crusaders will be playing their next 3 home League 1 fixtures at Chester RUFC, Hare Lane, Guilden Sutton, Chester CH3 7DB Due to the incompetence of Eirias Park not ensuring work on the ground was completed in time and signed off for insurance purposes. Many thanks are extended to Chester RUFC for accomodating us.

Three home wins. Please note: North Wales Crusaders (perhaps we should change our name to Wanderers!!) will be playing this game AND the next two home games (2nd July and 16th July) at Chester RUFC, Hare Lane, Gilden Sutton, Chester CH3 7DB We've played there before and its a lovely stadium.....and not that far from North Wales...I'm sure we can bend the border for a few weeks!!

Once again Eirias Park has broken its promise to the club to have the stadium sorted. I was at Eirias Park last weekend for our first womens game and the pitch looked ready appart from clearing some building materials and fencing. I sence we are being messed about. Our Directors are working overtime to get games on at alternative venues and our fans are completely frustrated. The game will be played at Clwb Rygbi Nant Conwy, Pant-y-Carw, Llanrwst LL26 0PW

Please note. North Wales v Workington Town has been postponed due to the pitch at Eiria Park not being finished in tome for our first home game since March! Bitterly disappointing for both sets of supporters. Also note. North Wales Crusaders play their first ever game at 1pm on the 4G pitch behind Eirias Park....before anyone asks, this was deemed not to meet RFL minimum standards for League 1. ...so We'll have another home game, away from home vs Workington in July.

The most predictable division
gogledd replied to Anita Bath's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
A bit of an odd season for us. We finished 3rd in the league last season and got knocked out in the playoffs. We lost some experienced players to Championship clubs or retirement, so this year was a relatively new team. We've played all the top teams and lost. We've only really had one proper home game all season (We played Dewsbury at 'home' in Widnes) and now after being promised Eirias park would be ready for 11th June, we've been let down by the stadium not finishing the work on time. Add to that a list of 13 injuries during our first 6 game, we've done well to win 3 on the bounce! -
A real frustration for both sets of fans. We were told not two weeks ago that work on the stadium was on schedule and the pitch would be ready for our first home fixture since March! The postponement means we lose out on revenue and our fans miss out on a home game, due to the stadium not meeting our expectations. It must be frustrating for Town fans too; particularly if you had booked accommodation in the Colwyn Bay area. If you are in Colwyn Bay, our womens team play their very first ever fixture at 13:00 on the 4G pitch at the rear of Eirias Park - and yes. the Club did ask if we could play the League 1 fixture there, but it doesn't meet RLF minimum standards.

Totally agree. The WRU are having all sorts of problems including investigations of a toxic culture. The regional team are in meltdown and the National team has lost 4 of its most experienced players this month! Players could be looking for a fresh break; a good RL leader, and some progressive investors in Cardiff or Swansea could reap the benefits.

If thats the case why aren't 'top NCL' teams trying to get League 1 status? The League could do with a couple of more teams in any case to make the season financially viable for the current teams involved. -

My #cru4mnda fundraising is currently sitting at £2221 (plus the £150 raised at Midlands Hurricanes). I'll keep it open for a week or so more if anyone still would like to donate! -

Why not get out to those clubs and see for yourself. I've just come back from Cornwall and had a fantastic welcome.... and that was exactly the same at Hurricanes last weekend and I expect it will be the same at Skolars next weekend. Those clubs are incredibly hard working and keeping Rugby League alive and well in Cornwall, Birmingham and London.
