  1. Think it might have been tongue in cheek
  2. Rugby League should try to get tag/touch WCs to be played at the same time and under the same banner as the RLWC. They're calling it a festival of WCs with the women's and wheelchair WCs incorporated. If it was expanded to include tag/touch versions then it would definitely be a festival and would also let everyone know it's a variant of RL
  3. I agree. The main goal should be to play regular games and establish their one team. If Edinburgh and Glasgow play across the border then will the other 3 teams just play each other or look to join the NE league too?
  4. I remember reading that. Good way for them to get regular fixtures. Are the 5 Scottish teams running their own league now? If Edinburgh and Glasgow play in the NE league then then they could run a 2nd team in the Scottish league
  5. Maybe they could link with the NE league and Cumberland league and have a joint play offs or cup competition
  6. I noticed that too. The bounce was favourable but Tedesco couldn't adjust because Williams sent him running to the corner flag and then put it off the side of his boot
  7. The RFL really do need to advertise that it's RL. Super League and Chamionship teams should invite these leagues to play a round of fixtures before a league game
  8. Just had a look. Need some in Bradford, Kirklees and Calderdale. Also, would like to see the word League tagged on the end
  9. If my local club, or a nearby club, ran a proper organised tag league I'd definitely get a team together. I'd also be tempted to put my hand up for their rep team if I was good enough
  10. Touch and tag could attract a lot of people to their local club. I played tackle all my life but am past the age where I can play it now. I would definitely still play in a tag league if one was available though and I know quite a few others who would do the same. It could also be marketed at workplaces etc to enter teams into a midweek comp, a bit like Soccer sixes, which could be hosted by a local club. Any players in the midweek comp could then be enticed to represent the club in a more organised league against other RL clubs
  11. But I'm talking about a non tackle version of RL, with RL in the name. Sets of 6, play the balls, kick when you want. Basically RL sevens without tackling. The main point though would be to have it under the RFL umbrella and let everyone know it's RL
  12. We should start a movement on here and set up tag/touch tournaments at local clubs with a view to expanding it if it takes off. Just call it RL tag or RL touch
  13. They need to play him at prop so he can take early hit ups straight off the dummy half. I can't believe they've obviously watched him play and identified his strengths then don't use him that way
  14. If this just produced 4/5 NRL players every few years if would massively benefit the French national side
  15. Thanks. I hope he plays. I'm interested to see how he goes
  16. When is Luke Thompson due to make his debut? Could it be this weekend?
  17. 3 Brits. Doesn't Victor Radley have English parentage?
  18. Is it available to watch anywhere now it's over?
  19. I always have a think who else could go and play in the NRL. Thompson is an obvious one. Who else would be able to go and do well?
