  2. I know there's lots of doubters but I know the guys in charge of the project and I'm 100% certain it will be built, even after all the obstacles that keep being thrown in the way. Many thanks for doing yhe questionnaire too, where abouts are you then?
  3. Hi everyone, me again the Oldhamer in Cornwall As some of you know we are making great strides to develop the game here in Cornwall and hopefully one day we will see the Cornish Rebels play in the Stadium for Cornwall in League One. With this in mind we are seeking the thoughts of Rugby League fans across the country especially those with experience of League One. And who better than my fellow Oldhamers, a town with such a rich history of Rugby League. Hopefully the days of League One are behind the club now though! If you could spare a few minutes please let us k

  5. The Rebels are still going strong, just not competing at Open Age at the moment. We have some big news coming soon so please keep and eye on our Facebook page Hope your all keeping safe and well up in Oldham ??
  6. We where put in contact with the guys at Saints Foundation by a Saints fan who has a holiday home in Cornwall, after a visit and couple of phone calls we created a community development partnership. The foundation support all our schools and junior activity and send coaches down throughout the year when we host development days and schools competitions. They have also helped us to educate coaches to be able to deliver Rugby League sessions. Rugby League is now the main Rugby Competition on the Cornwall School Games at Primary level with around 250 schools taking part each year. At s
  7. That has to be the long term ambition for sure, in the mean time the club will continue to develop the game within schools and look to further their spread across the whole county to create a pathway from juniors through to open age rugby league.
  8. Cornish Rebels only team in the South West to win the league 3 seasons in the bounce and 2 where league and cup double seasons. Compared to heartlands clubs yeah we probably are rubbish but weve rolled Rugby league out to over 250 schools working in partnership with St Helen's over the last 5 years, so I'd say we are better than Scotland haha
  9. Cornish Rebels established in 2013 who play in Black and Gold, sponsored by Doom Bar, and have an agreement to play in the Stadium for Cornwall once its built, already exists ?
  10. Nobody was cutting their nose off to spite there face, it's a matter of attitude, one party shouted loud the others didn't because it wasn't in the best interests of the sport. St Helens have provided lots of coach education to our development team and through CPDs to the teachers of the primary and secondary schools in Cornwall. They provide lost of support and we run a number of festival days through the year with the support of the saints Community team. The last 3 years over 150 secondary students have attended each of our festivals and all gone home with Saints goodies after a great
  11. True but some of these clubs haven't played more than a handful of games for the last two seasons, so a moree formal structured competition is a step in the right direction. The region is only served by A roads and with the huge number of visitors in the summer travel has always and will continue to be an issue. Cornish Rebels to Dorset is 175 miles each way and with holiday traffic can easy take 4hrs. There is a huge obsession on this forum of an 8 month season for the southern and regional leagues to be deemed successful, but surely a competitive league increasing participation slo
  12. From the South West Rugby League Facebook page ? 2019 UPDATE ? There will be six clubs competing in 2019. Saltash Essayons RL, Dorset County Giants Rugby League, Cornish Rebels RLFC Tarka Storm RL and Teignbridge Trojans RLFC will welcome Devon Sharks RLFC back into the fold after a two year absence. The League competition will comprise of home or away fixtures between the clubs as well as a Magic Weekend and a Grand Finals Day at which all clubs will be involved after the final league table is confirmed. Perhaps the biggest news for many will be the return of the coveted County of Origi
