  1. I went to the gym again today. Been 3 times this week yet I am the same weight as last Saturday. They had the rugby international on at the gym and I have to admit I watched the France v Scotland game as I was exercising.
  2. I went to the gym today again Bob. I do feel better physically and mentally. Back to 73.0 kg. I avoided some potentially controversial threads today by being at the gym so that is another benefit. ☺
  3. Thanks. Nothing direct but I checked the book list and The book was called August Heat. There seems to be slight variations to the plot of the tv series.
  4. I read and enjoyed The Voice of the Violin and I have a few others waiting to read on my kindle. I like European crime series of books. My favourite of the tv series was August Flame - was that based on a book do you know Jon?
  5. I just read his obituary in the Times. Shades of Grey was his best (co) vocal in my opinion.
  6. Thank you. I have The Collectors to read next. The Camel Club books were £1 each on the kindle daily deal last year so I bought the first 2. If I see the offer again I will buy the others. Usually there are one or two of his on offer each month. It's good to know you enjoy crime books. I really enjoy them too.
  7. I have just started The Camel Club by David Baldacci. Is Zero day a John Puller novel?
  8. Thanks Bob. All seems fine now. The aches are easing after a couple of days. I went to the gym Saturday and today. The thread is a great incentive thanks. 73.48 today.
  9. One European (uefa) rule I would like to see the back of is no top flight games allowed live on tv when Champions League games are played. I missed the Man City game 2 weeks ago and this week there are no Scottish cup replays on tv.
  10. I went to the gym again and I've lost the 2 pounds I had put on Tuesday. So back in the right direction. Feeling a lot less stressed too. Though that maybe because I've left the Brexit thread alone today!
  11. I am going up too much. I'm spending too much time on the Brexit thread. I think I will go the gym tomorrow and try going twice a week. I just did want to ask a serious question of anyone. Presumably any aches and pains on the side afterwards is normal after the exercise?
  12. 73.94 kilograms. Another 2 pounds put on this week. That's 4 since we started?
  13. It's been confirmed now. It's been so sad. He had everything to look forward to. He seemed such a pleasant and down to earth person. The photo of his dog waiting for him was so moving. Fortunately his sister will care for him.
  14. Thank you. That is a really helpful answer. You are at a higher fitness level than I am. I lost a waist size when I began going to the gym and a goal is keep this size.
  15. Yes I agree Bob. How much fluctuation in weight is usual within a week? Will going to the gym put weight on for me? If I do arm and chest weights? Or should the aim be to lose weight?
  16. 73.028 I weighed myself again at the gym. 2lb increase this week. Not so good.
  17. I had similar physio here but for ligament. I had lots of exercises to do. They helped a lot. I am off to the gym now.
  18. Thanks Shadow. I appreciate your help. I need to concentrate on this thread more really. The Brexit thread is always stressful. ?
  19. Hi Shadow. Am I too late to join the weight chart? If I can join please then this week I weighed 11 stone 6. 72.57 I think? It's still old style scales at the gym. I missed last week's as I was ill but 2 weeks ago I was 11 7 so I've lost 1 pound already. Thanks.
  20. I remember you helped me here before so I wanted to say I am genuinely sad for you.
  21. I thought Windmills of your mind just before I opened the link. I thought Noel Harrison sang the definitive version of the song. I also liked a version Alison Moyer sang on The Two Ronnies of all shows.
  22. Me too. It's looking bleak now. He was clearly very well thought of in Nantes. It's so sad to think that a decision to move clubs may have cost him his life. It reinforces how fragile life can be. Of course also we never know how many times we have escaped it. Very tragic.
  23. Emiliano Sano. Cardiff City Player. Hope it's ok to post now. Still a little hope but it's not looking good. Its so sad, a real tragedy. He had everything to look forward to. Terrible for his parents and family too.
  24. It was one visit for me also but I am just building back up again. I think Damien' s point is good in that it's important to go even when we don't feel up to it. Your gym is a good incentive.
  25. Thanks that's perfect. I almost asked you but I thought i'd try Bedford for a change, he seems a respected member.
