  1. They have none, both clubs also have poor crowds.
  2. That's a really odd excuse to make considering it's now 2 decades since Huddersfield were last outside of the tip flight. Hudds have also won the league leaders shield in that time. You also mention growing the crowds from 900 to 6/7/8 thousand but they've been steadily declining since 2010.
  3. Can get all the signings they want, until they get a decent coach they're going nowhere.
  4. Lam is the biggest factor for me. Whether it's down to his knowledge of the Oz comps, his contacts or his pull as Oz assistant/PNG hero...I don't think there is a coach currently within the UK with a better hit rate of imports than him. Since coming over with Wigan 4 years ago he's brought French, Field, Asiata, Ipape, Lam Jr who are all in the conversation of best players in SL currently, not to mention other hidden gems like Amone/O'Donnell.
  5. Lam mentioned in his post match interview following the Cas game that he was recalled last week by Saints. Bit frustrating when Wellens doesn't seem to have any intention of playing him at Saints but can understand them not wanting to strengthen our team with the Semi final looming
  6. Isn't P&R continuing providing it's a B replacing a B?
  7. All 3 of Hudds/Cas/Wakey play each other in the next few rounds too, Hudds v Wakey next week and Cas have Hudds then Wakey either side of the CC final in August. Obviously i'm biased as a Leigh fan, but even trying to look at things from a neutral perspective this season as been fantastic for the division, it's ridiculously close at both the top and bottom and the results just seem to keep making it closer by the week.
  8. We'll see how things look after the next month with a very tough run of Salford away, Saints in the cup, Wigan away, Leeds away then Cats at home. Could be top of the league and in a cup final or out the cup and out of the playoffs come mid August. We're staying up though and recruitment looks to be well on the way for next year which is the most important thing for me. I'm just going to keep enjoying week to week, we do love it against the Yorkies this season though, 12 wins out of 12 games against Yorkshire sides in cup and league this year.
  9. Absolutely, Huddersfield play Wakey next week with Wakey now 3 wins from 4. If Wakey win that Hudds are right in the dogfight then.
  10. Took off after 30 mins, precaution over some tightness in the groin according to Lam on Leopards radio
  11. 16-34 full time, Leigh with 2 try savers in the last 10 mins. Currently 2 points clear in 2nd place, madness.
  12. Wow!! Well done Wakey, unbelievable turnaround from a few weeks ago. Game well and truly on at the bottom
  13. Having looked again, the average is across 3 years, so when grading comes in it will take into account 2022,23,24 crowds so will be massively dragged down by 2022. We're currently averaging 5050 when including 2022 and 23 so far so way off 7.5k, although that will only keep rising the longer we stay in SL.
  14. I think today's announcement of the 7500 average being the benchmark for IMG points might see something like this happen, or at least a bigger push than would have been as we're currently averaging 7085. It's unlikely to hit 7.5k but whilst it's still possible it wouldn't surprise me if DB goes all out, especially after the year we've had.
  15. It's confirmed he's leaving Saints and it's pretty much an open secret at this point after confirmations from Matt Shaw and other sources, but Leigh policy is to not announce any signings for the following season until the end of the year. It's a Beaumont policy and his reasoning in interviews is that it's out of respect for the teams they are joining from and also to keep focus on the current playing group until the year is done. Was the same last year with the likes of Jack Hughes and Rob Mulhern who were announced as done deals in the press around this time last year but weren't officially announced until the rebrand launch night. It's actually a shock these days when the club does actually get to announce something before the press
  16. Something else Yorks stadium, has going for it is the camera position facing the big main stand. The CC quarter was my first visit there and i was quite surprised at just how small a couple of the stands were - from what I'd seen on TV previously i was expecting a mini LSV(4 relatively equal sized stands) whereas it's more of a mini AJ Bell(a really nice, bigger main stand and 3 much smaller and basic stands). The TV angle does a good job of covering that fact and it's something the AJ Bell could learn from as it TV games always make that stadium look a lot worse that it is when you can only see the 3 cow sheds.
  17. I have noticed a definite shift in the tone of replies to social media score/result updates in the past week or so.
  18. Yes that one was reported by Matt Shaw a month or so ago along with Dan Norman and Owen Trout which all seem to be done deals for 2024. He's from Leigh so adds to our number of locals and adds a bit extra depth which is what we need for next year, especially for when we eventually start fielding a reserves side be it next year or the year after. Louis actually 'liked' the story when it was posted to the Facebook Leigh fans group which pretty much confirmed it. For Norman, I think Lams comments in this story make it pretty clear he's going to be with us next year and beyond. Definitely looks to be a clear plan in place for younger prospects to come in and supplement the experience we already have in place.
