  1. Yes it seems a lot have misunderstood the question - the OP isn’t asking for the biggest nilling, but the biggest consecutive nillings. Anyway not sure if they are meaning just the top flight. Outside of the top flight, West Wales lost 144-0 to York (which a few have mentioned), and followed that up with a 124-0 defeat to Bradford. 268-0 aggregate. I doubt that will ever be beaten in the top 3 leagues.
  2. That’s right, our points difference is 14 better than Batley’s, who actually play their final game on Saturday at 3pm so we will know what we need to do to at least finish above Batley, like others have said though I think the final spot is Halifax’s to lose plus Barrow is never an easy game. Saying that it’s been a really good finish to the season. Really enjoyable game tonight, and that’s some effort to come from 10-0 down. Probably had a few 50/50 calls go our way, but as they say it all evens up right? Due to now being a rockstar (!) my previous game was Fev at home, and last time I’d seen Knights win was back in May against London, even though it’s only been a 4 month gap I have to say in that period Liam Harris has really matured as a player, I hope we build a team around him for next season.
  3. As it stands: 8 teams have a mathematical chance of being promoted. 3 teams still have a chance of the final playoff position. 4 teams are fighting for their lives and can still go down. Could literally go down to the very last second. It always surprises me when fans say they’d prefer to go back to whoever finishes top goes up. The season would’ve been pretty much over a few months ago for all but those 4 teams battling relegation.
  4. Confusion yes, but unless you’re a player/trainer/water carrier who was on the pitch then you have no idea what the York players are asking the ref - they could be saying anything such as can you watch out for high tackles sir, for example. In the same way watching the highlights Flanagan was wafting his arms a lot and kept saying things to the ref, the biased amongst us might assume he was asking for a penalty (which isn’t his style, of course)....but on the other hand he might just be telling the ref he can’t wait for his end of season holiday in Lanzarote when he can go swimming.
  5. SATURDAY 16th SEPTEMBER Newcastle Thunder v Barrow Raiders KO 15:00 Toulouse Olympique v Featherstone Rovers KO 17:00 (UK Time) SUNDAY 17th SEPTEMBER Keighley Cougars v Halifax Panthers KO 15:00 London Broncos v Bradford Bulls KO 15:00 Swinton Lions v Whitehaven KO 15:00 Widnes Vikings v Sheffield Eagles KO 15:00 I have a funny feeling Keighley will post the shock of the weekend, pretty much securing their status with a win over hot then cold Fax.
  6. Very positive. With York Valkyrie I think the Knights should research why a lot of fans watch the women’s team but not the men’s. Obviously I don’t spend all game looking at every single person and thinking have I seen them at a men’s match, but over the years you start to recognise faces, I reckon as a rough estimate maybe 1 in 3 only go to women’s games. I find it fascinating. Not sure if it’s the more slightly relaxed family atmosphere, the fact it’s cheaper, the women’s team being more successful.
  7. 1,213 last Sunday for York Valkyrie vs Huddersfield Giants Women. Very good turnout, and so many faces that I don’t see at the men’s games.
  8. Out of interest how do you know that the York players were asking the ref why it was a try? You’re hardly on top of the action at Odsal, and I don’t think Gledhill has yet hooked up players with mics!
  9. Allegedly (yes, that word again) the 2nd lowest budget in the league that year. Only Rochdale (who ended the season bottom) had a lower budget. Allegedly again. For me, his main plus side at York was his loyalty. There are quite a few stories of what he had to put up with during some of the darker years at York. But apart from when Ben Cockayne was running things in the halves, the rugby was overall pretty tedious. However it’s hard to say whether he was directly (or indirectly) responsible for Wakefield’s awful start to the season. Let’s see how he goes at Fev and then judge him. I’ve thought since the start of the season Toulouse would go back up (though I would like to see Fev have a go in the top flight).
  10. Summed up very well. The first season back in the championship York were allegedly running with the 2nd lowest budget. His loyalty to the club was impressive and York fans will forever be grateful. However I also recall a fans forum circa 2020 when he said he doesn’t like it if York score a try early on and he prefers to build pressure which still sounds ridiculous 3 years later. I feel he will improve as a coach given the opportunity and hope whichever team he ends up coaching he has them playing more attractive rugby.
  11. ‘Cool’ it, I’m working on it
  12. My attempt at being our friend from deepest darkest Dewsbury Moor: Well well well Lost today at hunslet A little bird tells me all is not well Arnold Schwarzenegger is 75, and Dewsbury sold 75 season tickets last season Difference is Arnie will be back. Will Dewsbury And if they do come up, will Paul Sykes play on for a 57th season
  13. Should be a good indicator of the rest of the season. Win and there’s a slim chance of playoffs, and should at least be aiming for 8th which all things isn’t bad alongside Challenge Cup QF and the 1664 Semi in Hendo’s first season against a backdrop of injuries. Lose and I can see the season petering out, probably enough wins to survive but that’s it. Hope we can get the 2 points out and maybe I can make an appearance (in the stands not on the pitch!) soon!
  14. Why they sacked the previous guy I have no idea!
  15. Yep just reading in the main forum about that. Never good to see any club struggle off the pitch.
  16. Great win, sounds like Harrison has really stepped up with the goal kicking last few matches. Pretty much a perfect set of results in the other matches today.
  17. Plus we’ve got a new stand at the LNER to wheel out for their travelling fans
  18. He’s back in 3 weeks
  19. £5, or £2 (concessions/U16s). Cash only on the gate.
  20. Huge weekend of fixtures, Keighley is never an easy place to go. Barrow are away at Sheffield and likely to be without Sammut who could be banned for 6 games. Swinton have been on fire but can’t see them winning at Fev. Whitehaven should win at Newcastle. And then Widnes play Bradford. But as they say, let’s concentrate on our own performance.
  21. 3 weeks away. See latest post.
