  1. The brown knock on was ridiculous, I had to rewind it at the time. Likewise with Harris. But I thought York could’ve been pinged a few times for a high tackle. Overall very good officiating, it’s not an easy job.
  2. They did similar for the Valkyrie a couple of years ago
  3. If you search ‘York Knights Wembley’ on YouTube there’s a 17 minute video of highlights posted by Fev, they’ve also just posted the full match.
  4. Never had any issues with Fev fans, even when I was visiting with Castleford when they were in the Championship. I just don’t know what it is with the Bulls lot, like others have said there’s some decent fans amongst them but so many are demanding, entitled, rude and seem to be in a permanent mood.
  5. I believe a Featherstone player was put on report towards the end of the first half (not sure why, couldn’t see anything in the tackle).
  6. I guess winning at Wembley recently isn’t for everyone York 2025 Featherstone 2021 Bradford 1949 (Stanley Gene made his debut).
  7. Good to read an insight from someone there. He’s a fantastic player is Reynolds, I saw him make his debut for Castleford (2013 if I remember rightly). I wouldn’t be surprised to see a York-Fev rematch in the playoffs.
  8. Here’s your regular reminder that Bradfords last 1895 cup game at Odsal drew a terrific 1601 crowd.
  9. That’s something that a lot of people don’t grasp with York fans - for some reason we don’t congregate together. At Odsal some go in the seats, some in hospitality, some under the scoreboard, and some down the side with the Bradford fans. Likewise at Fev - some to the side of the stand, some in the main stand, some stand in the terracing end, and then a handful in the seats behind the sticks. It’s quite unusual, I’ve never really seen it with other clubs fans. Maybe we don’t like each other?! York took 10 coaches so seeing people say York only took 500 is odd. I assume all those on the train/cars just had afternoon tea at Buckingham Palace instead.
  10. Top 3 on the pitch in my opinion (in no particular order): Liam Harris, Toa Mata’afa, Connor Wynne. Saying that I don’t think any player for either side was off their game.
  11. Yep, bitter bitter club. Fun fact; I’ve previously volunteered/worked for 2 RL clubs (Castleford/York), and only had issues with 1 set of directors (very rude and demanding) and 1 set of fans (coming through the turnstiles they had chips on both shoulders). I’ll let you work out who. Danny Scunthorpe speaks highly of them too in his biography.
  12. I noticed the kicks from Reynolds/Fev were quite restrained, I wonder if it’s anything to do with the knock he picked up last week therefore he wanted to avoid drop goals.
  13. Well done York. I just managed to catch the winning drop goal before rushing to my gig. The players from both sets of teams gave their all, they looked exhausted in golden point. I’ve stopped reading the comments on social media, so many bitter people, most of them seem to be from the Bradford and Halifax area. Maybe it’s just a miserable place in general, whereas we support a team in one of the most beautiful cities in the UK. To be fair to Featherstone fans most are congratulating York, they played their part and it’s a good turnaround for them from where they were a month or so ago. One final thing, well done to the club for sorting a victory parade. For me one of the biggest mistakes of the Flatman era (and let’s be honest, there weren’t many!) was the 2018 title was celebrated with a £60 a head (or whatever it was) meal at the racecourse when it should’ve been a proper parade. At least holding it today right in the middle of the city gives a bit of presence.
  14. Correct, I don’t think the bash ever sold out with ALL* the championship teams attending. How would removing all but 2 teams make it a bigger crowd?! My own opinion is make it a standalone fixture, possibly even the Friday night before in the spot vacated by London Skolars. The hardcore fans of both clubs would still end up going (booking time off work etc) and those down early for the game would be tempted. *I can’t remember if Toronto/Toulouse used to take part.
  15. They’ve only been quoting figures officially given by the respective clubs.
  16. It’s a shame Jamie Lyon only stayed 2 years. What an entertainer though!
  17. It always amazes me these things aren’t double checked. Same with some clubs social media output and as stated York Press - it’s absolutely woeful with incorrect opponents, wrong kick off times, errors left, right and centre. I run social media for my band, we are hardly the Rolling Stones but when I post the gigs each week I check as I’m typing to make sure it’s correct, I double check before submitting, and then I do a third check after it’s been posted and amend where necessary. I will never forget Castleford Tigers inviting fans to join their ‘e-male lisp’
  18. York have a 6 point start with Skybet. Also, trawling through the posts, I’ve not seen many if any York fans saying we just have to turn up to win (just getting that in there if Fev win!).
  19. I’ve followed Castleford from 1997 and then moved to York and started following the Knights in 2016. With that in mind: Castleford - Most fans would probably say Brad Davis, Adrian Vowles or Dale Fritz. My own choice is Wayne Bartrim. The guy was a machine, he only played for 2 seasons for Cas but unlike most overseas signings he settled straight away. He could do everything, there seemed to be no weaknesses to his game. It always amazes me Cas were able to sign a player of his calibre, who’d played state of origin and for the Kangaroos. York - Again, Tim Spears and Jordan Thompson are right up there. Graeme Horne was something else I just felt another year would’ve cemented his place in Knights folklore! Maybe I’m drawn to halves but my own choice is Liam Harris. In his first spell he was the mastermind behind inflicting Toronto’s first ever league defeat. He seemed to be becoming a journeyman going between a loop of Hull FC/lower league club. When he came back to York I know a lot of Halifax fans were saying he had the worst defence for Fax since Graham Holyrod but he looks to have really worked on it. The last 2/3 years in my opinion he’s consistently been one of the best halves in the Championship, his avoiding injury record is incredible too, think he’s only missed a handful of games.
  20. It was last seen in the WF7 area
  21. I wonder if it’s York’s year?!
  22. York Knights have reported 2500 ticket sales so far.
