  1. It does if the club doesn't want to give him away, and he is contracted, it may have slipped out notice but contracts work both ways, to protect both parties.
  2. 6 players they need to show the exit not 10, Jy Hitchcox played 2 games not in favour Hingano out on loan to York, roumered that Aaekins is homesick, Inu will be 36 next season, Nakubewei and Ioane would not be kept in place of the other overseas lads. But it does not alter the fact if he is contracted to Leigh Leeds will have to pay for him, and I would say for at least his contract value plus 50% to obtain a better player, no good letting him go for someone not as good, with the money Leigh themselves can go into the transfer market. No need to wait for out of contract players.
  3. I have seen it too many times in the past that lack of local interest ends in a tearful way, I would give it another year and if there is no improvement in Newcastle's popularity in the North East I think the management just may have a serious look at it.
  4. So how much are Leeds prepared to pay for him if as the link indicates Macdonald has signed a contract at Leigh.
  5. Yes but it has to be a percentage of a figure, and whichever way you want to dress it up from a population of 220,000 less than 5,000 home fans is a pretty dismal return especially for a top 4 side, or put it another way RL is not very popular in Huddersfield, even your 150% quote for a cup final, I will say that again FOR A CUP FINAL which will be about 7,000 is nothing to be proud of which you obviously must be to quote it.
  6. It is frowned upon to use a places per capita situation to align the crowd numbers, and I am surprised you are doing so with a 2021 population of 220K Huddersfield's average home numbers would be far down the list percentage wise.
  7. So why do Hull want him? Any Hull fan's reading this.
  8. And the age factor? It is relevant Nene was 25 when he had his injury Ricky is 32, get Nene on a 3 year contract that is looking to the future with a release clause if the worst should happen.
  9. Can some Championship club's afford that? I think realistically we all know the answer to that, especially if funding is decreased and they would well be within their right to say "SL wouldn't pay it, why should we" Yes it is decision time for Toulouse, do they invest and go round again?
  10. Can't agree even though it is likely my club who would be the beneficiary of such a decision, as I have said many times previously I will not attend games where the result has no meaning or consequence if we are in a relegation situation, what's the point?
  11. Like Halifax, Dewsbury and Batley where the Giants pick up a number of academy player's from? like I said in the last post we are not producing enough junior players, that is the reason the RFL are not allowing all club's to run academies, but should they be denied just to benefit the likes of Huddersfield, think about it instead of trying to make a joke of it, something you are clearly not very good at.
  12. Good luck with that one, tell it to McManus, Lenighan and co. You never have disclosed your location so I honestly wonder how much you are au-fait with the community side of the sport, I was heavily involved in it and over the last 35+ years watched it decline in popularity both off the pitch and more importantly in participation numbers and none more so than the last 10 years and it ain't slowing down.To decrease the overseas quota - something I had advocated for years - is not feasible, there are just not enough coming through the system unless of course you want to see a further decline in the product on offer for the paying public, I do believe the game is nearing a crisis point on the development side through lack of numbers and modern day society is not going to improve matters with all the bad press and litigation issues high contact and collision sports are recieving, parents are taking this in and there is so much else for kids to do these day's. So before as you suggest in reducing the overseas quota, what is underneath the pro game needs a good dose of looking at to get it to level that we are not reliant on overseas player's, have you got about 50 years to wait? and in all honesty I do not ever see the sport in this country improving to readdress this problem it quite simply does not have the resources to do anything about it.
  13. You have not been watching much RL have you? you do spout a load of bolux. It is nigh on impossible to entice SL quality player's in big numbers to play in the Championship, there will always be the need for any promoted team to improve the squad that has got them promoted. Leigh's approach this season has been to recruit to give them the best possible opportunity to go up, they well know that they can only retain 7 of the overseas player's the same as any SL club and still be at a disadvantage financially and having player's at their disposal to those SL club's allowed to run academies, but we have what we have, I think Leigh will be the best prepared team to go up (if they make it) with the player's they will retain, but like any other season it is going to be the recruitment for next season that will be the telling point.
  14. I would prefer a Yorkshire pudding this week to a meat and pratoe filled pastry case, I can't see it but I hope 'another one bites the crust' Up the Trin.
  15. Hull do pull one or two out of the hat each season, I think this will be one of those, Hull to win by 8.
  16. Wire to post their most impressive win - on the scoreboard - against a Toulouse who last week v HKR did nothing whatsoever to give the impression that they have another gear to shift into, is it the coaching or the player's? in my opinion a combination of both, although having 10years experience Houles is a novice at SL level and a lot of the player's are either not good enough for this level or too long in the tooth. Wire 30+ difference on the scoreboard.
  17. Sorry @ShropshireBull Leigh to get 50+ at the other Fulltime Club in the Championship.
  18. Lesson learned then, that is why Sutcliffe has only one full international cap.
  19. What is the extent of Leutele's injury? And also swooping a 28 year old for a 32 y.o. doesn't seem good business to me to be honest, as good as a player is the older he gets the more prone to injuries he becomes and the longer the recovery time, ask any Fev fan for confirmation of that this season, and we should have also learned that lesson form '17 season in SL.
  20. Good on the lad I hope he does extremely well.
