Really, I am not disagreeing with you Spidey but that is not in my expierience, is it the NW Mens League you are watching, I am watching the games in both the National Conference 1st and 3rd divisions not as that should have anything to do with it just curious. -
Tackle height law change confirmed

Yeah, following on from our discussion the other day as I said even with these changes it doesn't look much different from previously in that the laws are not 'pedantically' enforced, so the experiment of playing it out in the community game is not really working. But, I don't think this will be the case with the pro game and even moreso with televised games, the refs will have to follow the letter of the law or suffer the wrath of the commentary, reporters, opposing coaches, jeering crowds etc etc. -
Happy that you can see the funny side of my remark, it was said in jest. Anyway though, I thought you had put it to bed a couple of days ago?

I know he is relatively young at 22, but there is just something in watching him that says to me he may just not be SL quality, you *kinda get a good indication by that age. I just base that on expierience of watching many player's come through over many years, hope to be proved wrong though. *Awaits people to give me examples of late developers.

Aye it is one of those unwritten laws of the universe or at least Rugby League Bob, when you are winning you get these incidents going your way nothing whatsoever to do with 'making your own luck', but when you are not winning these and likewise calls go against you, it has happened for as long as I have been involved with the game and it will continue to do so, yes it us one of those things. But just one point, why would the VR not be able to go back to it it happened at the play the ball before the passing movement that resulted in the try? Theoretically the same tackle in the set.

No let them keep going, eventually they will vanish up their own backsides.

Most definitely, he is nowhere near ready, perhaps that was one of Tony Smith's better calls ?

David Armstrong from the Newcastle Knights is in the headlights again, Mr Lam says it unlikely anytime soon, so I expect him to be here in a couple or 3 weeks time!

Agreed with the number and quality of the cameras available I have said in the past do it properly as they do in the NRL or don't do it at all, it is more evident on the grounding of the ball I have seen as few as two camera angles here and the deliberation from the VR is "I can't see any evidence to overturn the ref's on field call" whilst the bunker and we the viewers have at least 6 camera angles to make the judgement. But saying that, that did not come into play last night with the last try, the camera angle gave enough evidence that there was an infringement, that would have been picked up by the bunker and the try would have been disallowed.

Yes seemingly the attitude as been set by the MRP, and there have been a few this season that the MRP will have to look back on their own 'Persuasive Precedents' which should influence their reasoning on future likewise events accuring and their deliberation.

The Worst Last Post Ever?

I agree with you re the bugle player, almost as bad as the many different Aussie singers that has performed the national anthems at any function, can anyone actually blast out a tune in Aus, they all sound like they are singing down and through their nose. -
Just shows how different our system is to the NRL, irrespective of what the ref gives on the field the 'Bunker' can interject and give their interpretation before a try is awarded, as you say on replay it was clearly an infringement with the ball being knocked forward into the Leeds player firstly before being regathered by the Giants, that try would not have stood in the NRL.
-
Hey Tommy, you don't have to be at the game to make a judgement, as far as I can see he was brought in on a whim that he would prove to be and as good as his dad and uncle but not proving to be so, hard for you guys who support Leeds to put up with, but if you will please excuse me I don't mind at all.

Last try would have been scratched off in the NRL, the bunker can override the ref. I have said on a couple of occasions that the methods of Smith are not suiting the recruits from Salford which some Leeds fans don't agre with, one even said I don't know what I am talking about, well to those who disagreed with me you must not have watched those two players in Salford shirts or are in total denial of how different they are performing for Leeds, really they are both wasted to how well we have seen them both previously.
