  1. On this day in 1857, Sheffield F.C. are founded. They are the oldest football club in the world still operating.
  2. Watching 1st and 3rd on TV live, will probably watch the 2nd delayed because I'm gonna be at a football game at the time that's on. Far too poor to attend any game in person.
  3. I wasn't alive in 1985 () but I remember constantly checking the football scores when I was a kid in the 90s and early 2000s just like I do now on flashscores. Interesting how technology evolves isn't it? Apps on your phone are just ceefax that look a bit nicer really!
  4. Fair enough, I don't go on a lot of social media so don't see masses of comments from fans outside this forum really. I'm only on twitter to follow a couple of sports teams but don't really read comments on there much.
  5. There's just been a detailed story about Mikey Lewis and the England game on Look North. Great bit of publicity!
  6. I think people have got me a bit wrong with what I meant by posting the tweet from Hull. I wasn't moaning about the fact they posted that, I think it's a good thing that they are talking about the game, I was merely saying that I would think that the people who would read that post would already know about the game, that's all. If some people who don't know about it see the post and as a result buy tickets then that is fantastic!
  7. Hull plugging the second test. Its a bit of a ###### that they feel they need to advertise the game to dedicated RL fans but there it is.
  8. I don't think it's bad either. I know it's not really the same comparison but as some people know on here, I'm a season ticket holder at a non-league football team and whenever we play on a Tuesday night we tend to get bigger crowds than when we play on a weekend and it's just as you say, when people are off from work at a weekend they want to go do other things than just sit watching sport. Maybe they take their kids to the seaside or run a load of errands they can't do midweek but on a Tuesday night you can't do these things so instead of sitting watching Eastenders they decide to go down some live sport.
  9. On this day in 1295, the Auld Alliance between Scotland and France, against England, is first signed. On this day in 1642, the Battle of Edgehill, the first major battle of the English Civil War, is fought. On this day in 1707, the first Parliament of the Kingdom of Great Britain is convened.
  10. Great player, was really looking forward to watching him but his health is far more important than a rugby match so I hope he has a speedy recovery. All the best Dom!
  11. Just an observation. I've just been on the BBC sport app and I noticed that the story on this game is 11th on the articles. A story on a regular season NFL game is 5th. So an international featuring a home nation in a sport played in this country that is covered by the BBC is more than twice as far down the articles than a regular season game of a foreign sport. Like I say, just an observation.
  12. I'm not gonna let on much while I'm actually reading it but I will just say, good start.
  13. Funnily enough Mrs. Goose said she was looking at the pitch being torn up as well. I don't think she's said one thing about the game yet, just about the work the groundsman has got on his hands.
  14. Well there are a load of board games stacked on one and a load of hats and junk mail stacked on another or there would be 5 empty seats.
  15. A Great exciting first half of RL that! Some real skill on show! Fantastic advert for our game this on a lovely sunny Sunday afternoon live and free on the country's #1 TV channel!
  16. The game is delayed by 10 minutes cos they're having trouble getting the crowd into the ground. We'll that's encouraging that there's so many fans they can't cram them all in!
