  1. I think 500K is way over too, I was quoted ~300K (euro) when they were using charter flights as it was around 30K to 35K to charter a fight for a day round trip. Hotels and stuff on top of that, but I can't believe that would be no more than 3-4K on top Edit: however, airfare is a lot more expensive than it was a couple of seasons ago
  2. For those who comment "Toulouse don't have any SL players, why don't they just spend more on signings" https://www.loverugbyleague.com/post/toulouse-olympique-face-500000-bill-to-fund-opponents-travel-costs/
  3. I'm guessing Sky did. There are still a lot of people on Holiday here, most would be back at the weekend as the new school term starts on the 1st. But as this week is when there is very quick turn around for teams, it would have to have been Thursday or Friday. We will be there anyway, possibly the last home SL game for a while so it would be churlish to miss this one after being to all the others.
  4. Field must have been really rubbish not to score against Toulouse then, or maybe he just took the night off for once
  5. 52-6 FT .. if anyone is bothered. Marcon had a foot on the line in the 79' for a disallowed try. More of the same really, knock-ons on the last tackle, kicks not going 10m, head shots in their own 20m. Same old same old.
  6. Considering who will depart TO this year they might have to rely on some of the elite players. Marguerite for one, considering he was playing for them a couple of years ago. I hope his time away has sorted his head out a bit.
  7. In France that is considered rape. However, where is the line where crimes are committed on private property, or in the public domain? If a player has his career ended due to a nasty head shot/spear tackle, is that a criminal offence too? And don't get me started on the racist abuse some players get from some members of the crowd. They would be criminal acts too done anywhere else outside a sports stadium. Can you get the police involved or would they deem this a civil matter?
  8. It was a rhetorical question to be honest but thanks for the analysis.
  9. Don't worry I won't. Does anyone read the Sc*m anymore?
  10. To be honest he needs a rest , twisted knee.
  11. And yet Corey Norman has been cited for a Grade F. I missed that one on the replays!
  12. Yes, I know, i was listening at the time, but something is better than nothing
  13. Better than the BBC Radio Manchester commentary at the moment. I'm wishing I had gone with the Mrs to the Haras in Tarbes this afternoon rather than subject myself to this match with Wigan imploding in this match. Considering TO have their next game *checks notes* ... at Wigan.
  14. What happened to BBC radio Manchester? Was listening to the match and now some shonky talk show broke in
  15. 2 wrong calls last night meant 20mins of 12 men. It doesn't take much to turn a match.
  16. 8 out of 10 is 80% The clubs are allowed to raise 10 issues they think are valid to the referring panel. Of those 10 TO raised 8 were upheld, hence 80%. It's not a comment on the total match, just the 10 points raised.
  17. It is just rumours though at the moment, I'm close but not super close to what's going on. I know a couple of players will be retiring at the end of this season so they will have to rebuild again. I wish now that Remi had stayed on for one last hurrah to be honest, i still think his presence on the pitch would have been enormous this season in defence. If they want to build a 2nd french team, behind Catalan's then where do they get the home grown talent from? Those that are left after Catalans have hoovered up the rest?
  18. You will find that big enterprises will spread sponsorship money across various platforms
  19. No, it was 8 out of 10 issues the club raised were upheld. Each club has a right of reply...so to speak...on the game played. It's not total calls in the game.
  20. I would like to point out, with 4 games left, that Toulouse have yet to be relegated. (and Leigh have yet to be promoted)
  21. Mixed bag that post. They didn't recruit well in the close season and They were disadvantaged by the late promotion and ability to sign quality players In my mind are mutually exclusive. Promoted Championship sides are immediately under pressure as all the "good" players have signed contracts by mid-august. The 350K they have to find for the travelling teams each year would be better spent on players (French or otherwise). Although, IMO.... 350K would have been better spent on getting a TV sponsor, so that we get a video ref, a couple of games this season (Wigan at home springs to mind) and they would have won. 350K well spent IMO. The referring has been awful (the recent Hicks game, 8/10 of his calls raised by TO to the Ref boss were upheld).... you get 1 or 2 calls wrong people will forgive you, but 80% ? The Kheirallah/Ford debacle, well, that was outside of their control but fair play to wanting to keep some integrity in the club. Would they have been up to it ? The point is moot.SL. I really hope TO stay together as a team and have another crack at it ( and yes, i'm well aware of the rumours of them returning to the French league). I believe IMG will promote a 14 team SL and I hope TO are willing to put another year's grind in the Championship to have another go.
