Whitehaven in financial trouble
Neutralfan7 replied to langpark's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
This post has turned into a he said/she said thread. Regardless who everyone thinks is at fault, no one knows the true facts let alone fans from other clubs who have opinions they think are factual. An actual fact is, Haven were told that if they got special dispensation to bring in players then they would receive a points deduction that would definitely see them relegated, rather than do this, the team have pulled together and are fighting tooth and nail for the good of Whitehaven RL. It is not us going on about player welfare or anything, that is from other clubs fans, if the team didn't want to play with the numbers then we wouldn't be playing, shows what a great attitude and commitment the team have to each other and the club imo. -
Depends on the contract and what's stated in it. And seen as only a few people will know what it states it's only guess work for everyone else. My point being was if he's happy to watch his team mates struggle while he stays away because he doesn't want to get injured it speaks volumes about what he thinks of them, again it's only my opinion so not looking to get into a debate over it.

Yeah Evans played albeit on one foot Ferguson was sent off just before HT but by that point it was already 0-16. If Castleford are having a say then the matter needs took further. Says more about Jake on how he feels about his teammates, contracted to the club to play for us, can see that they are doing it tough but still refuses to play, but that's just my opinion on it

It was 0-16 when he got sent off stop looking for excuses -
He'll be a big loss for you guys if it's fully gone, probably a 6 week job. Geat win for you today, it's a shame 3 could go down this year as imo none of the teams fighting it out deserve it.

Hursey would of served his ban this week so wouldn't of been able to play anyway. Shame you had to recall them as they're both too good to be sat on your bench not getting game time, maybe re-called them as you're also in the dog fight at the bottom. Shame it's 3 going down this year. -

Near enough all the other players are injured. Fax took back our 2 loan players we had, we had 1 banned who couldn't play. If we get anymore in it comes with a points deduction that would relegated us no matter what. -
Great win for you guys ( and us ) today. Huge effort by us with 14 and fingers crossed that we manage to get some players back before next week! You guys have hit some great form so I'm sure it'll be a great game! Hope to see a good number of you making the trip

Outstanding effort 1-14, huge result! Really need some bodies back to give the lads the help they need out there! Never say die!

I wouldn't call it a must win game at all, Barrow and Swinton play each other so one will lose points, fax won't get anything out of Wakefield so they will stay in the fight. We're down to the bare bones and doubt the 16 ( if we have 16 ) are fully fit. I fully expect Dewsbury to get the win today and if you don't there is something seriously wrong. If anything, I would call it a must win game for Dewsbury as if you can't beat a patched up, down to the bones Haven team today maybe marchy should be shown the door. Just hope it's a great game for the supporters and both sides come or of it with no injuries. -
Evans is in the squad this week Maizen/Holiday injured but would think they aren't far away. Gebbie back next week. Graham is getting married this weekend so expect him back at some point. Carter not playing as doesn't want to get injured as signed for Cas for next year ( not sure how that's working tbh... Not playing as don't want to get injured ) Dion... Who knows!

I can only go off what was said, and as of that meeting it was stated that everyone had been paid what they were owed. Think it was partly helped by the generosity of fans, for example, Wakefield supporters group offering to pay for the bus to the away game, amongst other generous donations by various others. No idea if that has been been affected by the recent goings on with board members etc as been no update that I've seen regarding finances. -

The club had a meeting on the 13th August and it was stated then that everyone had been paid. The backrooms staff didn't walk because of being unpaid, they walked the same as the players due to the break down in confidence in the BoD. -

Yeah I don't think banning them is the way forward either. -

Players have been paid. They haven't downed tools due to pay issues, they've downed them due to the break down with the BoD who have returned and since resigned. -

Won't be a problem, the VP's supporters group have and will always fund flights for players -

The in-fighting has been going on for years with certain directors, it's not just happened because of the money situation. All the players have been paid. -
RFL threatens serious sanctions if we fail to complete fixtures

Your obscure comments and negative posts yeah. Once this all blows over you'll go into hiding again till you find something else to criticise -
Rumours are said returning directors have now resigned again and the players/backroom staff are back... Watch this space I guess?

Why do you keep making topics rather than just writing on the ones that are already going? Wish we could sanction you for doing it -

Deadline has passed to bring anyone in. Only way we can do that is if we take a huge points deduction. Can see it happening now as that's the only way we may field a team, however this weekend might be too early for that.
