I went to see Grandaddy last Thursday night and what a fantastic night it was. It was Grandaddy without Jim Fairfield, Aaron Burtch, Tim Dryden. For this gig it was Jason Lytle & the Lost Machine Orchestra and we sure got our money’s worth with a total of 21 songs with the whole of the Sophtware Slump being played. The set list was 1. Sarah5646766 2. He’s Simple He’s Dumb He’s The Pilot 3. Hewlett’s Daughter 4. The Crystal Lake 5. Chartsengrafs 6. Underneath The Weeping Willow 7. Broken Household Appliance National Forest 8. Jed The Humanoid 9. Jed’s Other Poem (beautiful ground) 10. Jeddy’s Poem 11. Jed The 4th 12. Miner At The Dial A View 13. So You’ll Aim Toward The Sky 14. E Knievel Interlude 15. Lost On Yer Merry Way 16. Saddest Vacant Lot In All The World 17. This Is The Part. “Encore - 18.The Go In The Go-For-It 19. The Warming Sun 20. A Lost Machine 21. Happy Little Kid. If They ever tour again and visit Manchester or Liverpool i would definitely go watching them again. I even bought a Grandaddy t-shirt.

I would’ve enjoyed the punk Phil.

I agree 100% Moose, everything is becoming cashless and has to be done on your phone and print it yourselves, but not everyone has a printer and all that palaver. I like having a ticket in my hand that i can keep as a reminder and put with a gig-poster. The most annoying thing about these companies is trying to contact them and get a reply.

They are one of those bands that hardly anyone has ever heard of Moose. But i am pleased about that, the less popular they’re the better. Although i believe the lad who played Harry Potter (i don’t know his name) is a big fan of theirs. As a mate of mine said “? from Harry Potter picked a song from one of those sh** nondescript bands that you like on his desert island discs”. I am still waiting for my tickets from TicketDisaster(master) they’re bloody hard work and draining trying to get through to them.

I Went to see (British) Sea Power last night in Manchester. It’s the first time i have been to the Albert Hall and for some reason i thought it was going to be some posh all seater place like in dat der London. But it’s a cracking venue, with bars going down either side of the hall, there is some seating upstairs but i don’t know if you could just nip up there or you have to pay extra. It’s great place for moshing & crowd surfing if you’re fit & nimble enough to do that and there was a fair bit of that going on last night. I stood where the sound engineer or whatever they’re called is with all the gadgets and it was a good spec. I am back again on Thursday for Grandaddy, a band i have always wanted to see.

The non-league game is very strong in Warrington at the mo, i think Rylands have done really well. Widnes are doing well with the gates they get. Cables have got a battle to stay up but they had a excellent turnout for the derby match against Marine. I wonder if the FAC run Marine had last season(was it in 2020/21) has helped them financially to get players in. They are the only side currently in the NPL 1 West averaging over 1,100, but Workington crowds are up around 80% on last year. Wasnt there talk a few years back “Route 66” about the RL & Football clubs sharing a new stadium in Workington ?.

Film Thread (What have you been watching?)
Josef K replied to John Drake's topic in Any Other Business / Any Other Sports
I apologise if this has been mentioned in the previous pages. Has anyone seen Operation Mincemeat, is it worth going to the pictures to watch it ?. -
I’m off to watch British Sea Power on Saturday, it was touch & go at one stage because a couple of them have had Covid. I thought i had another Doug Stanhope on my hands. The Sea Power gig is part of a Christmas present my brother got me and he is my chauffeur. He is disappointed that the gig hasn’t been pp because he was hoping it wouldn’t take place and then he wouldn’t have to swap one of his shifts. He is not impressed with the music i like (not many people are) and he lets me know that. I keep telling him “Well don’t get tickets for me then”

I like Paul Heaton. Jacqui Abbott is a local lass.

Scunthorpe are down, but great wins for Stevenage & Barrow. I still don’t think OAFC are down yet.

I started watching Murder Maps last night as i have never seen it before. It is very good.

I purchased from a charity shop on Saturday “The Five : The Untold Lives Of The Women Killed By Jack The Ripper by Hallie Rubenhold” -
Crewe are down after today’s loss against Doncaster, it was on the cards but it is now. I think the only other club to be relegated so far is Dover Athletic, but their season looked doomed from the start.

Aye i am the same sadly .

He’s let himself go, as he said.

A big win for Oldham at Stevenage yesterday. I think that definitely could be the nail in the coffin for Stevenage now, they can’t get a win anywhere whilst most of the other clubs above them are picking up victories. That is all but Barrow but their goal difference is far better than Boro’s.
-
Oldham beat Leyton Orient last night 2-0, that takes them out of the bottom two and swapping places with Stevenage. They play the biggest game of the season in world football when they meet Stevenage.

I’ve not got a clue on how to put music on this site. Could someone please put on for me “PJ Harvey’s - On Battle Ship Hill” and “Chasity Belt’s - Black Sail”.
