  1. My take is that Haggerty has shown some promise which can be nurtured/mentored in the Championship by an amicable and experienced DoR.
  2. Tight hammies are a ###### when it comes to a teamsheet - any player not wanting to play can find a reason not to. We had a squad on its arriss, no middles and 4 hookers/halves on the bench at one point but still no hand went up. Suppose the club can't call him out as very difficult to prove.
  3. We had the religious guy post game at Hilton Park - his banner was ''The end is nigh'' with the crowd responding '' you watched the game then''
  4. Thank you Did Salford owe the council £1.3m in un paid rent, and is the rent £0 at present
  5. Thank you for the correction, so that I am up to speed What was the deal? and what was it previously? Someone told me the council agreed rent free unless over 8000? What was not repaid when the CVA was broke?
  6. You will have some clubs with a vote who would lose nothing by staging a Mon night game - they will take anything
  7. granted, I could pay staff £1 a hour just wont get staff
  8. Having been to the old Moor Lane when Swinton played there I can only comment what a total hole it was then and that the fun of 2000 Wire or Saints fans descending on the area for parking is worth a tv channel on its own. As commented on Salford decided not pay rent but players - and have got away with it
  9. I enjoy your reasoning, it brightens up a cloudy day. Historically about 50% of boxes are for season and are at about £1k average, higher for some and lower for others - 10k loss 100 diners lost would be about 6k Main match sponsors reduced by £5k Plus gate drop by 1000-1500 plus secondary spends will be 40-50k in total plus ###### off fans who have had their day taken away = immeasurable. This needs filling from the deal otherwise you are expecting clubs whose central funding has been decimated losing even more
  10. Leigh were told in 2001 to fit out the TS stand with seats in order to meet Framing the Future requirements and gain entry to SL, despite numerous SL clubs not meeting those requirements and still dont. Leigh spent what was in the squad strengthening budget on meeting that criteria - Widnes brought in players and won promotion. The RFL/SL are not to be trusted
  11. Lets say Leigh are to play Fev in a sunday 3pm non televised game next season with both teams up near the top, if not a top2 fixture. Corporate would be packed ie 20 exec boxes, sponsorship would be fully taken and dining room would have 200 in generating £40-50k, one would hope dependent on time of season a 4/5k gate and local pubs and on site beer/catering doing well. Fast forward that to a monday evening and that income would conservatively drop by £40k and probably more. If we have a deal that compensates the clubs for the losses and limits games that can be shown to 1 per season at home plus 1 away by lets say £50k per club then lt works, or indeed pay £50k per game shown to the home club. If this is a fekk all deal then burn the paper its on unless its a major channel
  12. As stated basic English and ability to listen is a big problem for you it seems, so let me try again - in big letters REMOVE ALL TW FIXTURES AND RESULTS OF THOSE FIXTURES FROM THE FINAL POSITIONS. LEIGH STAY ON 32 POINTS AND WILL HAVE PLAYED ONE GAME LESS THAN THE OTHERS DUE TO LOSING TO TW 3 TIMES (BASH FIXTURE). THEY LOST TO LONDON AND FEV WHICH TAKES THEM TO 31 AND 30 RESPECTIVELY - SO WITHOUT THE EXTRA FIXTURE LEIGH WOULD HAVE FINISHED 3RD AND WITH THE 2 PLAYERS COMING IN ON TOP OF THE QUALITY WE HAD PLUS THE FACT WE HAD BEATEN ALL OUR RIVALS IN THE SECOND PART OF THE SEASON AND SALFORD IN THE CC LEADS ME TO BELIEVE WE PROBABLY WOULD HAVE BEEN PROMOTED.
  13. Pretty true but its not a SL quality ground, and does not take away from the situation of Salford being in SL is because the didn't meet their CVA obligations and cant afford rent at the AJB - ie they spent it on players. If they had settled those bills would the squad have been good enough to stay up?
  14. Go to 2018 table, remove all TW fixtures and apologise please your last point has no relevance and shows your lack of understanding the answers given when they don’t suit your one eyed agenda
  15. 1. The eventuality needs to be planned for 2. If Toronto hadn't been around Leigh would have probably won promotion in 2018 3. I would hope nobody wanted Toronto to fail - especially the Leigh fans who took over dozens of RL balls to help a teacher grow the sport, something they are also arranging when said teacher comes over to play in the Masters event in Leigh this winter - seems to be a problem getting them at a decent cost over there. TW would have been a huge asset but as normal no thought was put into the what ifs eg what if TW is a success, then TO, then Ottawa etc because in a few years we might only have 5/6 UK clubs in SL
  16. If you cannot show complete confidence that your product is more than capable of meeting the opportunity or need, then you shouldn't be anywhere near a top table. RL has a potentially great future in the UK but not with idiots running it.
  17. Think I posted this earlier this season but one of the top men in the US league was telling me the clubs are seriously cashed up via tv money and individuals that they will be looking to take the better players from SL and some from the NRL. It’s amazing who you meet in the corporate at Leigh. He was talking $5m min salary spends which he said was nothing in US terms. Good on them and success there will really help us here
  18. How did you read that from the hypothetical situation - one hell of a closed mind, they continue in the elite. The background was to build a full time club over 4 years to be competitive should you get into SL.
  19. Leigh's that I can recall 1 John Dorahy 2 Alex Brown 3 Dom Feaunati 4 Richard Varkulis 5 James Clare 6 Blake Wallace 7 Jason Ferris 8 Mark Castle 9 Kurt Baptiste 10 Ben Flower 11 Jonathan Walker 12 Luke Isaaca 13 Mike Holliday
  20. I would suggest that prop would be in the Newcastle reserves who Ipswich link to
  21. To be competitive in the top division you need to have the basis of your squad in place, that means a salary spend circa £1.2-1.5m and playing at a strong level. Championship funding will only allow you to get to that spend for 1 or 2 seasons max - and probably lose £700k pa min in doing so plus 70-80% of your games will be uncompetitive - that was the beauty of the middle 8's you knew who could make it and who wasnt up to it. Two full time tens engage all ambitious clubs able to support FT structures, makes the move into SL1 or the drop to SL2 less daunting, creates a true elite, creates a highly watchable 2nd tier and the focus should be on growing it ie 2 x12 etc with a particular focus on French teams - it would be great to have 6 FT French clubs in a 2x12 FT structure that eventually accepts Serbian, Ukranian Greek Turkish teams etc
