  1. Not the result we all wanted in Oldham but fair play to Toulouse, they defended well and were patient to wait for mistakes. Great game and fingers crossed we are able to put a strong team out next week vs Fev
  2. I agree on this about the pre game stuff, it did just seem a little “muted” today. Like were the Boundary Parkas even there today and where was Lofty? Also no kids mascots today? Hoping it’s just because it was a Saturday and it’s not a sign of cost cutting. Yes a winning team is important, but the key to getting the fans down is to make every game an event.
  3. At the fan forum Mike and Bill made it clear that this wasn’t the plan at all. The view is that each game plays into the next one. But they acknowledged that we did need to look into strengthening the squad. The players we played last night are great players, sadly a lot of them were playing in unfamiliar positions. Nevertheless Bulls are an amazing team, the speed that they came forward was unlike any other team we’ve seen so far.
  4. Can’t recall everything that was said but one thing that is probably important given the game tonight was a question about whether we would be resting players with one eye on the semi. Mike and Bill both made it clear that would not be the case. Their view was that each game feeds into the next one.
  5. Just got home and honestly, I feel bad for anyone who left early. Much better performance in the second half. The game was sadly decided with the team sheets and we couldn’t overcome players being out of position. However onwards and upwards. Let’s hope for some returns soon.
  6. Bradford played well today, asked a lot of questions that Oldham weren’t ready for. In particular we had no answer for their kicking game, think 4 tries came from the same set kick into the corner. Great atmosphere and hope that one bad loss doesn’t dent enthusiasm. When it rains it pours though, heard rumours that a Bradford fan even won the golden gamble….
  7. Frustrating if the dance company went rogue and tried to cut corners whilst charging a premium to the dancers. From our point of view it's important to look to reduce the damage caused. There were 2,500 dancers and families who undoubtedly now have a sour taste in their mouth. Whilst it's nothing that Oldham RLFC have done, it's likely that many will see no difference between the dance company and our club. Sure Bill and company will look at what they can do. However, is there anything we can do as fans? Like I'm not sure on practicalities of this but I'd happily donate the cost of a couple of adult tickets to look to get some of them to attend if they still wanted to. (or if not this game maybe the cup game?)
  8. Appreciate we have dozens of topics about this. But I really really hope Bill and Mike realise that the crowds will come, they just may not come as quickly as we all hoped. So hope they can be patient. In the meantime, my OH appears to be buying at least the cost of an extra ticket in merch every time we visit Boundary Park. So hopefully merch sales are sending a good message to the Board. We ended up with a scarf and a water bottle this week. Can't remember last time she wore a scarf (or filled up a water bottle)
  9. So it sounds like lots of the dancers families will be there. Also sounds like others are bringing some more fans. We are also bringing 2 more. So does anyone know why the Joe Royle isn't close to being full yet? Are people just so used to buying the week of the event or is the date just not convenient?
  10. Is it wrong that I miss being in that stand with the pie shop in the upper corner? (showing my age now).
  11. Resurrecting an old topic but went on to possibly buy some extra tickets for this and there are a TON of tickets available still. Sections A,B and H (the side stands) are pretty much empty so that's close to 600 seats currently available. Section G next to H has roughly 150 seats left and the other sections also have a fair amount of availability. The Jimmy Frizel stand has a single section open and looks like roughly 300 seats sold which I think are to the Dancers families? A month out I was hoping that more stands would be open. Now I'm worried that there will be more dancers on the field than fans in the stands. Would be such a shame if this was a damp squib. What can be done to make this a success? (and any reason why it's not sold a lot so far)
  12. Glad I saw this - I was just about to get some North Stand tickets . Yeah the Oldham website takes you to the main ticket site which you can then either pick a seat in the South or have general admission in North
  13. So following the draw yesterday its York vs Bradford Oldham vs Featherstone Both should be good games that are too close to call. Are there any plans to put either on TV or Stream?
  14. Watching Barrow's penalty kick from the halfway, it does look like the far left of the stand was sparsely populated. Still looked like a good number of fans though.
  15. You may have the soaked part right... BTW does anyone else think that they built the JRS roof too high? Honestly it seems to offer no protection at all from the rain.
