  1. what a game well done Wakefield, from a very happy Robin. Just hope it emptied your tank a bit b4 you come to our place next week.
  2. did i forget to mention I'm listening to the game on the radio at work
  3. Cant they learn from our successful competion. Don't they have a highway in one part of the country they can just focus on putting a team in every town it passes through, and block entries from elsewhere. I
  4. As opposed to where Wigan or Huddersfield?
  5. The biggest plus side for Huddersfield is that they will run there own stadium with potential to bring in extra revenue and make the club more sustainable, which I believe is the long term hope of mr Davy. The crowds will come if they make the whole stadium experience feel like a real night out, Hull kr have made Craven park the place to get on a Friday night with a selection of different bars and street food vendors.
  6. I thought Catalans actually started the game quite well, they tackled with real aggression and made good meters. It looked like it was gonna be a good close game, but soon as we scored there heads went and there discipline just fell to bits. I can't quite figure out how team with such quality on paper can be this bad, it's not like the owner has not put the funds up to be competitive their wage bill will be at the top end of super league.
  7. The decision made on the day was the correct decision according to the rules of which I had no idea of till explained after the match by the officials. What you can argue about is if the rules are wrong and need tidying up, it does seem rather confusing that there is one rule for the attacker grounding the ball and a different rule for the defender grounding the ball. Personally I would make it so that the hand, arm or forearm need to be in contact with the grounding of the ball for both attacker and defender to simplify the rule.
  8. Infamy, infamy the referees all got it in infamy.
  9. How about that for a homecoming attendance.
  10. You really can't underestimate how much the clubs engagement of working with the fans is in the running of a club, when building from a lower league position. The biggest and most important change I've noticed at Rovers is there are way more women attending and our age demographic has dramatically dropped with so many younger fans coming through the turnstiles, building for a solid future for the club. The whole thing at Rovers is we look modern and upto date with fan engagement with things like Craven street and our social media output. Other clubs still look dated and a middle aged mens past time, they need to modernise and engage with the fans more. The club have made Craven park the place to be on a Friday night.
  11. This year's speedway gp has been moved to the national speedway stadium at belle vue Manchester, with a capacity of about 9,000 that includes temporary stands. It has moved there after many years of being held in Cardiffs principality stadium attracting crowds of around 35,000, the crowds have being steadily falling year on year and is no longer financially viable in the big stadium. Speedway is a sport on the decline with very poor weekly crowds and way off most championship rugby teams never mind super league crowds.
  12. It wasn't till I got out of the stadium did I realise just how much rain had come down, the roads and pathways where flooded. Both teams did well to keep the error count as low as they did given the conditions There was no way any team would risk getting caught out by trying to play expansive attacking rugby, you make a mistake going expansive and both teams had players with speed and skill to exploit the gaps that would appear. So a tough war of defensive attrition between two well coached disciplined sides, with no player's jumping out of the line was what we got. Well done to both sets of players and I wish Matt dufty a speedy recovery from a very nasty injury.
  13. If the two 1895 team finalst had lost to there semi finals opponents then we would have had a lot bigger attendance at Wembley. For Oldham it would of been there first Wembley appearance and would of attracted a huge number of ppl from Oldham, and Bradford would of brought a fair few. Extra 10,000 I'd of thought overall and we would all be raving about a fantastic crowd. You can't pick who makes the final and no disrespect two the two teams who made the 1895 final, but Featherstone have made Wembley a regular occasion which takes the spark out of there achievement and York are team building a fan base and presence in there city.
