  1. A deal to the end of the season with a 2nd year as an option.
  2. Dogged by injury. Needs to be getting a regular start and hopefully finds this at the Giants. With Davies and Burgess ahead of him its tough at KR for him.
  3. The shareholders are unchanged as far as I can tell - Bill and a minority holding for Mike Ford. Jim Minton is the only named Director
  4. Agreed but sounds like he was looking for a deal for next season and this could not be guaranteed. As I recall, he arrived at Oldham in very similar circumstances with Widnes making a similar call. Ironically I expected him to get a run at FB against Midlands after the knocks taken by Jack Walker against Doncaster.. He has been a great addition for us but unfortunately he is prone to games when he almost seems to fall apart and our backline has been consistently excellent. Dixon has been part of that.. until the Catalan game when he had one of those games.. I wish him well wherever he ends up. Salford?
  5. A superb Aussie who played State of Origin and won grand finals for Parramatta before joining Oldham with Paul Taylor. As others have said, he didn't play many but he was tremendous when he was out on the field. Not a giant but incredibly strong and tough. So sorry to hear of his passing.
  6. Well Cas have picked him up to play fullback there like his old man... Played a fair bit for Catalans but as a utility and I suspect he wants a crack as a full time no 1. Good luck to him
  7. No Ewan Moore or Dixon in the Salford squad this weekend.
  8. Shape can certainly be a problem when Cole comes on. There are nines that can run a game and Wildie is one of those but he lacks the ability to break loose from dummy half to the extent that Cole does. Geyer is less controlling and as one member of my family put.. he wants a ball all to himself at times. A bit harsh perhaps but he needs a strong pair of halves who make clear what service they require.
  9. Lots of rugby to be played yet. I really enjoy watching Cole making an impact off the bench and I am looking forward to seeing what he can do for us in 2026.
  10. Max missed the odd tackle but was very awkward to tackle and made impressive start. I suspect he will get better and pleased he is sticking around
  11. He looks a good loan pick up when we are down on numbers in the front row That said, given the increased speed of the game, less mobile old school props are not the way to go and employing more physical back rowers down the middle is paying off. Wood looks very mobile with good ball skills and will suit us well. On a similar theme, I see that Jimmy Beckett has gone on loan to Goole. He would be ideal..
  12. He is definitely a lot fitter this season and playing much better as a result. Happy to see him retained
  13. 2 years as well. Tremendous retention.
  14. Bayley was named at 13 for the giants.
  15. Despite contracts, the rugby league tfr market has always been a fluid space. In the last few years we have also seen issues at 3 clubs, 2 of which have reformed - creating the need for large scale recruitment and the loan market in overdrive. In terms of our recruitment, it's a question of balance and where are resources are going. We have lost 2 good players in Russell (a winger) and Makin (a prop) and replaced them with 2 back rowers. Both are good players no doubt but as Brooksy noted we are currently operating with nisbet and Dixon on the wing and I agree that nisbet is probably a better centre, well though he is playing at the moment on the flank.
