  1. Rubbish yet again. It's the SL clubs who have voted for 12 clubs with P&R. How hard is that to understand for God's sake.
  2. You could say its actually expanding up to as many as 24 teams John if extra funding is available which seems likely. Some teams in the initial second tier will go full time therefore driving standards up and providing stiff competition for the lower end SL clubs when the play offs come around. At least relegated teams will have a soft landing and a good opportunity to bounce back without boom and bust, as some people fear. I think it will be a really exciting, all year round competition, for all clubs if they go for the RFL's favoured option 3
  3. Just been looking at your Facebook release Gav. Amazing how almost all the comments on there are in stark contrast to the negativity on here.
  4. It's difficult to decide whether Salford won or lost their appeal to my mind. I've a feeling Koukash will have a smile on his face after this.
  5. Larry's alright really Phoenix, he's got a bit of a soft spot for Fev.
  6. I was dining in a Portuguese restaurant last night in the lovely town of Albufeira. As soon as the waiter clocked my Rovers polo shirt the first thing he said was 'who's got the coaching job?' And 'When will the stands be ready?' Amazing!
  7. Utter rubbish! Where ever I've been in this country the name Featherstone instantly generates the response ' oh yeah Featherstone Rovers' Try it for yourself and see.
  8. You live in the 21st century do you? So where in RL land are the village pit teams? Can you name them please because I dont know of any? Being the 'realist' you claim you are please explain to me which of the current RL big city teams are potentially likely to be pulling in crowds of 25k any time soon. It's a good job P & R existed back in the eighties or your mighty Wigan may not have been where they are now because I remember full well the evening when a famous pit village club put the final nail in the mighty Wigan's coffin and relegated them. Yes those days are in the past but only because of greed and self interest of the clubs which found themselves in the right place at the right time Who are you to say that Featherstone Rovers, Halifax etc can't return to the big time? As knowledgeable as you profess to be you don't actually know anything about their respective operations and prospective financial backing. None of us do, but wouldn't it be nice to find out? These clubs aren't run by fools you know, let's see by giving them their opportunity.
  9. But what about the letters page Chris? He was quick to point out that he hadn't received one piece of correspondence in favour of option three but failed to mention the week after that more than 50% of TRL members had, in fact, voted for it. He's entitled to his own opinion but if he's attempting to convey the thoughts of RL fans on this then he should give us the whole picture and not just the bit that suits his agenda.
  10. Scraping the barrel with that one is Mr Sadler. Doubtful the RFL will take much notice. Astonishingly biased journalism from Martyn over the past three weeks. I look forward to the day when we have games of such magnitude for Ganson or any other clown to balls up
  11. As last week Parky, a totally one sided, unbalanced article. Why wouldn't a RL journalist ask the clubs CEO/Chairmen what was going on so as to enlighten the fans as to the reasoning behind these proposals? They're the ones paying the bills, not the coaching staff.
  12. But you said or intimated that no one was in favour of it because your mail bag hadn't received any letters in favour. Even though there have only been 77 votes cast on here, it shows quite clearly that option three is, in fact, finding considerable favour.
  13. What's in a name? I'm very content in the knowledge that Rovers were the competition's best team throughout a long and tough campaign, having won more matches than any other side. Similar to Hunslet actually...now what's their title? Could only happen in RL.
  14. As happened to Rovers on Sunday. It's a nonsense and, as such, will not apply this Sunday should Saints and Wigan be level after 80 minutes. If it's good enough for the Championship then why not for SL?
  15. Receipts from which would be very welcome and much needed by both clubs, I would imagine.
  16. According to the Pont & Cas the golden point will not be in operation for Sunday's SL GF. Why is that then I wonder? If it's good enough for the Championship's big day, why not theirs?
  17. Will the Golden Point be in operation on Sunday?
  18. Too right! Let's hope a lesson has been learnt.
  19. It's been said before and I agree that the kick off time needs looking at. I know it's difficult with three games being staged but an evening start for the big match gives these lunatics all the time they need to get plastered. I can't remember the last time I saw trouble at a Rovers game and I attend the vast majority of them so it would seem that the big occasion attracts the undesirables who sadly get a kick out of spoiling for trouble through too much booze. As for the tannoy, I was in the North stand and could hear everything quite clearly. However we were very confused as a repeated recorded evacuation message was instructing all fans to leave the site through the nearest exit. But yet the live announcements were informing us that the west stand only was being evacuated. That wasn't very good at all as we didn't know whether we should stay or leave. Not ideal in an emergency situation. I hope the young man from Halifax makes full recovery and the perpetrator, if there is one, is dealt with accordingly. It was a great occasion despite the sickening way we gave the game away, and we don't need such idiots spoiling any more of them.
  20. Correct Mark. Hunslet are hailed 'the champions' by winning their league so why aren't we? Both clubs are members of the Co-operative championship leagues.
  21. It was lost well before the Golden point period, a ###### way of deciding a season's work by the way. We never had the opportunity to even touch the ball, apart from the charge down. That can't be right. What's wrong with two periods of extra time? Uncharacteristic defensive mistakes cost us dearly. The Worrincey try and dropped balls from Holroyd kicks lost us the game. But that's RL for you. We've been far and away the best side in the competition all season and it's been a year which all the players and coaching staff should be very proud of. Thank you each and every one of you. Fellow Co-op Championship team, Hunslet are crowned Champions for finishing top of their division but we aren't. Could only happen in RL.
  22. Brilliant Gary and well deserved for a lot of hard work.
