Mancunians to Launch Under 18's

Recommended Posts

Mancunians will launch their male under 18 Team with an open training session on Thursday June 27th at the Hough End Stadium, following a large increase in participation this summer.

"This is an opportunity for all young male rugby players in Manchester to come down, try Rugby League and see if they like it" Says Mancunians Head Coach, Mark Brennan.

"We've been contacted by lots of young players from all over Manchester in recent weeks asking if we have an under 18's team and the natural thing to do is to put on a few sessions for them so that they can see if they can make the grade." He Said.

"Under 18's rugby is an ideal place for young lads to learn the game without the physicality of adult rugby so if there are any players out there who have been playing adult rugby but would prefer to play against players of the same age, then it would be great to see them". Said Brennan.

"We've arranged a couple of games for next month and training sessions will be every Thursday at 18:00."

The session will be taken by Head Coach Brennan, who has experience of coaching at Widnes Academy, together with coaches from Salford Reds.

"It will be a one hour session and we'll be having sessions every Thursday throughout the summer. Anyone is welcome to come down, regardless of if you've played rugby before, so if you're athletic, like a a physical contact sport or you've been playing Rugby Union over the winter, I would urge you to come down to try out this fantastic sport." Said Brennan.
