THE ACE INSURANCE (EUROPE) BARLA NATIONAL CUP 2 ND ROUND RESULTS

Six out of eight games were completed in the 2nd Round of the Ace Insurance (Europe) BARLA National Cup this afternoon and in the tie of the round Thornhill Trojans against Hunslet Old Boys.

It was a repeat success of this season’s Hamuel Reichenbacher Yorkshire Cup Final. The Old Boys prevailed 18-12 in much harder and physical battle between both sides.

Last years runners up Wibsey Warriors switched their home tie to visitors Upton because of the condition of their ground and of the opinion it wouldn’t be better in seven days time. It didn’t work out for the Warriors as Upton prevailed 21-16

There will definitely be at least one Lancashire club in the last eight after Clock Face Miners defeated visitors Methley Royals 22-8, their local rivals Haydock Warriors had their game against Queensbury postponed and they will have to wait seven days to see if they can join the Miners

Morley Borough stormed home at Chequerfield 30-20, whilst holders Sharlston Rovers should have been welcoming Cumbria side side Hensingham but sadly had to withdraw from the competition.

The remaining game between Drighlington and Whinmoor Warriors was postponed and will be replayed next Saturday weather permitting.
