Sam Doherty is confident the Dons will finish the regular season in style this weekend against Workington Town.

A victory would be the Dons’ 10th in a row in Betfred League One, and the winger says they want to carry on the momentum they’ve built up.

He said: “It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster season for us, there have been ups and downs but we’ve come good at a key time of the season.

“We have to believe we can beat anyone, the performances are showing how good we are and we can win in different ways.

“The fans have been great to us all year even when the results weren’t going our way, we want to give something back to them.”

Having been beaten by the Cumbrian side earlier this season, Doherty believes they have a point to prove against Leon Pryce’s side.

He added: “They’re a tough bunch and a big set of lads, they have a coach who has played at a high level and they beat us earlier on in the season.

“It’s a psychological thing and if we get the first result this weekend then we could get into their minds for the second game.

“I’ve managed to get over the line twice in the past couple of games so I’m looking to do that in the bigger games as well.”
