Chief executive Carl Hall has been pleased with the Dons’ start to the Betfred League One season.

The Dons have won two from four so far this campaign, and Hall says they have shown different sides to their game in the first few weeks of 2019.

He said: “We’ve had a really tough start which is what we expected, we went to Newcastle and beat them after they brought in a lot of players.

“It was a really satisfying win for everyone given the fact we were down at half-time and people were starting to write us off.

“We know from the first few games that we’ve got to be better with our discipline, it gives teams an advantage on us and the boys know if they listen to the advice from Rich then they will be fine.”

With some injured players set to return to the side in the coming weeks, Hall believes the Dons’ fans will see more consistency from the side going forward.

He added: “We haven’t had our strongest 17 out on the field yet and have some real good quality to come back which will give us a big boost.

“The boys who are out of the side are desperate to get back in, Brandan and Brad Foster aren’t far off coming back.

“I’m sure Rich will be working the boys hard, because we know the Featherstone Lions game won’t be a walk in the park.”
