‘Make Some Noise’ for WWCF

Music students from Wigan and Leigh College will host an exciting evening of live music to raise funds for the Wigan Warriors Community foundation on the evening of Thursday 16^th March, at Wigan’s Robin Park Arena.

Music Students from Wigan and Leigh College’s School for the Arts will be performing a showcase of original material along with rock and pop covers in what is sure to be an entertaining evening, all to raise funds for Wigan Warriors Community Foundation.

As part of a project for their Level 3 course, the aspiring musicians from Wigan and Leigh College have been tasked with organising an event to kick off a series of shows which will see them perform at venues across the borough, all whilst raising money for various charities.

The performances will include modern rock favourites from the likes of the Arctic Monkeys and Foo Fighters, contemporary pop and original rock music with a little something for everyone. 

Music lecturer Matt Crawley said: “From the outset of this project, the students have been clear that they wanted to raise money for a local charity, and they have been working tirelessly to prepare for the event, rehearsing material and planning all aspects of the production. The students can be very proud of the good work they are doing so far, and they are focused on putting on a memorable show for the audience.”

Students from the Music Performance and Audio Production courses will be in charge of running the event in terms of performance and the technical aspects – developing the essential skills required for a career in the industry.

Doors for the event will open at 5:30pm and the event will run from 6pm until 9pm. Tickets will be priced at £10 with free parking for guests. All proceeds from the event will go to the Wigan Warriors Community Foundation. Refreshments will be available from the venue, with free parking vouchers available at the main reception desk at Robin Park Arena.
