Rochdale Hornets today learned of the initial IMG Gradings issued by the RFL

Today, the Rugby Football League have announced the first category gradings for all 35 clubs within the professional game.

Rochdale Hornets have received a Grade C, and ranked 28th.

Whilst the score puts the club into the Grade C category, we are very close to achieving the Grade B status, and remain positive and confident of the steps the club are and will make both off and on the field in 2024 and beyond.

Club Chairman, Andy Mazey commented;
"Despite a challenging last year with off field issues affecting our gates and numbers, and also posting a poor set of accounts due to tidying up our finances, we have ranked 28th which means we are one of the top 16 clubs outside Super League and under the current league structure places us on the brink of being a Championship club."

"We also have identified a number of areas through the grading pillars that we can rectify and execute efficiently."

"As a club we are excited for the 2024 season, and it is now vital more than ever for our supporters to be behind us all the way, both in person at matches and online."

"With some quick wins and some improved support from our borough, we believe because of the potential Rochdale has, that we can push into the top ten clubs outside of Super League in the coming years."
