The Eagles were well on course for their third win in nine days when tries from Craig Cook, Stringer and Dane McDonald put them 14-4 ahead. But tries either side of half-time from James Lockwood and Andrew Bostock, both goaled by Pat Walker, to add to Ed Barber's earlier score, edged the Rams ahead for the first time at 16-14. The game swung back in Sheffield's favour thanks to hooker Cook's second try after 51 minutes but winger Bryn Powell looked to have salvaged a draw when he went over for the Rams' fourth try six minutes from the end.
