Press release: The RFL open Red Hall to the public on Saturday
The RFL will open the doors of their historic Leeds headquarters at Red Hall on Saturday September 11 between 10am and 1.00pm as part of a nationwide English Heritage event designed to showcase buildings which are not normally open to members of the public.
Red Hall is a Georgian property built in 1650 which now hosts the national governing body of Rugby League in the UK; visitors will be able to visit the reception area, view the Rugby League Hall of Fame and Roll of Honour and have access to the grounds.
A booklet on the history of Red Hall will also be handed out to visitors.
The heritage open days event takes place between September 9 and 12 each year throughout Europe. In Britain it is co-ordinated by the Civic Trust in London and locally, by Leeds Civic Trust.
Typically in Leeds, there are over 70 events for the public to see or do over the four days, for further information please check www.heritageopendays.org.uk.
The RFL is registered on the Event Directory under ‘The Rugby Football League.’
If you are interested in visiting Red Hall please contact Sarah Birdsall on 0113 823 9107 or sarah.birdsall@rfl.uk.com to book a place.

.... Red Hall is a Georgian property built in 1650...
Wouldn't 1650 make it Commonwealth - a full 64 years before George the 1st?
Edit: Got me dates wrong!!

I've been inside Red Hall. It's quite impressive. I'm not sure how history-minded visitors will react to the 'fine Georgian interiors' being plastered with RFL logos and corporate slogans. They're absolutely everywhere.
I'm assuming English Heritage would never have offered guided tours of the old office at Chapeltown Road

And I'll third it, it is an impressive building with some impressive memorabilia in the reception area.
If you can get down there go along.

It would be worth a visit to try and find where all the bodies are buried.

The petition books full of signatures are lost or forgotten about somewhere in Red Hall, or even thrown out!
