  1. Just seen a replay that someone has posted. Don’t think there is anything in the Lam on Litten challenge bar an accident from one player trying to play the ball and a defender staying in the ruck. Charnley might have a case to answer for the lash out on Davies though
  2. Awful goal line defence from Wakey. That one looked like he landed short and the defenders dragged him over
  3. Whilever we have a second tier living off scraps in funding and week to week loans and DR players, with the pinnacle being a final game played on one of the club's home grounds, then clubs will do whatever they can to avoid it.
  4. He was saying Catalans were being kicked out not so long ago. He seems to be on a rabble rousing mission. Of course, there is the possibility that Bradford end up in the top 14 gradings, and make a mockery of the facilities scoring in the process.
  5. The crowds will soon drop if a team is getting hammered every week though. Leigh did the reduced funding place in 2021, it was not good.
  6. Not sure IMG points will be relevant any more.
  7. Isn't this just a reflection of the quality of young players clubs can attract in the first place, rather than the work the club does with them?
  8. Looks like you can still buy south stand tickets on the LSV ticketing site
  9. I'm not a Super League club. I am skint though.
  10. Whenever there are incidents like this, and the Nsemba one in the GF, I do like how fans can add another string to their bow and become armchair doctors as well as armchair referees and coaches.
  11. Not if they're better than the players they are replacing. Of course, we need to make sure player development systems are the best they can be, and we should be increasing dispensations for club trained, and even partially club trained (e.g. signed for a club at 19/20 and established themselves) on the salary cap. But if players being brought through aren't ready for Super League, then putting them in just because they're homegrown isn't going to improved the standard of the game.
  12. But doesn't the second half of point 1 as well as point 2 equate to needing more strength in clubs 8(ish) to 24? I'm not sure the middle 8s was an exercise in levelling down to be honest. I wouldn't go back to it now, but I would've stuck with it a bit longer at the time. Just another thing we binned off quickly.
  13. There might be. But not in time for next season for a lot of them.
  14. I think in isolation that this is a bad move. At very least it needs to be accompanied by increased salary cap dispensations for club trained players, and maybe even a reduced dispensation for players that play 3 years at a club before the age of 22 or 23, so clubs are still incentivised to give younger players a chance, even if not from their academy as a teenager. To play devil's advocate though. I see various people on social media suggesting that the standard of the league is down on what it should be. If that is the case, then we probably have a batch of players that are non-quota and late 20s / early 30s that are being paid over the odds as clubs are trying to complete a squad. If we're replacing those, rather than blocking places for the players now coming through, then this doesn't necessarily need to be a bad thing. As a Leigh fan, if we use the extra spots to replace players like Jack Hughes (33 years old), Gaz O'Brien (33), Brad Dwyer (32) or even Matty Davis (29), then I won't be too fussed. But I'll be very disappointed if we use the spots to push Hodgson, Towse etc down the pecking order.
  15. Cas could also be in for him, given Chester signed him in the first place. Whether he signs for Leigh depends on whether they were on good terms when the contract was pulled.
