Coaches comments after the game were:

 

Jonn Sharp: “I think we are a really good defensive team.

"Oldham had a few sets on our goalline and we defended extremely well. Attacking wise I thought we looked a lot better than we have done.

“I thought we challenged the opposition and put on some really good plays.

“Briggs had a really good ball playing game and Thackeray looked a threat when he ran the ball.

“I was really pleased we conceded only six points and I thought we were not far off being a really good attacking team as well so overall I was really pleased

“I don’t think it was any coincidence that Oldham beat Dewsbury the previous week. They are a really good team and I think they are going to knock off a few more teams as well. They competed well and they threw a lot at us.”

Oldham coach Scott Naylor: “I was disappointed with the result but there were quite a few positives.

“We started very slowly and perhaps in the first 20 minutes we showed Rovers too much respect. At places like Featherstone you can’t go 10-0 down because right from the start you are facing a mountain to climb.”
