  1. I'll admit I went along with a prediction of all home wins...Well done on a good result for Hurricanes...and the win moves them up to 6th in the league, one above Crusaders. We play Keighley next then a predicted battle royale in Birmingham to follow!
  2. Another game North Wales Crusaders cudda, shudda won. I thought Hunslet were fortunate to have theier first try awarded (player offside at the kick and a forward pass to the scoring player) but Going in 6 -12 up was fine. Our second half performance was worse than last week against Hornets. We had a penalty and that looked like our only chance of scoring. North Wales lost the game rather than Hunslet doing anything special to win it. Very disappointed that we didn't push harder to win.
  3. Catalan were not at the races tonight. I was expecting a close game...it was for 40 minutes but once Leigh scored it was one way traffic. Very frustrating team to watch are the Dragons. They can be incredibly brilliant or, like tonight, nothing works. Well played Leigh....deserve the win on the second half performance.
  4. Crusaders had ample opportunity to win the game today. Some poor defensive efforts on three Hornets tries, dropped kick off from Owain and a lack of effort on the last play before half-time when Hornets dropped their goal were the killer moments for me. Congratulations to Hornets on the win but it could...should have been a Cru win.
  5. Midlands Hurricanes, Hunslet, Keighley Cougars and North Wales Crusaders to win Hurricanes looked the stronger of the two teams when we played them recently. Cougars will be far too strong for Thunder. It could be close at Eirias Park....Crusaders need to cut out the unforced errors and reduce our second half penalty count drastically. If we play to our strengths we'll win....by 8 I think.
  6. Your assessment is probably less bias than mine, to be fair. A supporter is always going to be skewed towards his own team!
  7. Good summary...plus the Cougars players were much more adept in appealing for penalties...the count in the second have seemed way more in favour of Cougars, including 6-agains....and I remain unconvinced that Cougars were not held up for their 4th try. It seems our second half discipline is our Achilles heel, something I'm sure our caching staff will be working on. We're still in 3rd place after 4 games and I'm sure we'll be looking to make it 4 from 5 at home next weekend.
  8. Agree. Pat Rainford (North Wales Crusaders halfback) made a lazy tackle at Cornwall and had landed a 6 week (thats right, 6 weeks) suspension.....basically because he tried to get the player to his feet. Thats just extremely harsh
  9. Wins for North Wales Crusaders (just), Hunslet (just) Oldham and Hornets. Midlands could be the surprise result and they could come up with a win; they certainly pushed us all the way at Eirias Park. Cant see anything but a win for Oldham and Hornets, although Newcastle did come strong in the second half last weekend. Can Crusaders beat Keighley at Cougar Park? We've not got a great record there and realistically its a big ask, but not impossible. We'll have to be at our very best if we do want to win and cut out the silly penalties and unforced errors.
  10. I was supposed to be in Ireland playing Masters RL against Leinster Stags on Saturday....but after two aborted landings in Dublin our plane was diverted to Manchester it meant I was able to get to the North Wales Crusaders game yesterday (Sunday)!! After the first half in Eirias Park yesterday I was expecting Crusaders to romp away to 70 points...it wasn't to be. Thunder put up a spirited performance in the second half and really deserved their 18 points. Crusaders slipped into poor discipline again - although we've won 3 from 3, we need to improve our discipline overall.
  11. Great to see a thread on this game on TRL. Congratulations to Catalans Dragons, what a fantastic team they have. But..... why isn't this featured on the RFL socila media feeds? why isn't the game reported on the BBC Sport Rugby League pages but only found on the Disability Sport pages? Wheelchair RL is an elite sport for people with disabilities...
