  1. Is this showing up in participation numbers because it should be. I can't talk on Cumbria but using West Yorkshire again, there is not a chance that you would find 1k new players quicker in London than you would in WY.
  2. The funny thing is you thinking that Newcastle and London have an embedded Rugby League presence. Irony isn't lost on you.
  3. Brilliant news. Should be easy then.
  4. Growth tends to be social rather than demographic and RL's history suggests it expands more reliably where it already has a visible and embedded presence. Your theory that it is far more likely we can get additional new players in Newcastle and London than West Yorkshire simply is not true.
  5. I understand your logic but it does not align with how sports participation usually works.
  6. I don't disagree. Im just pointing out something which was said that was completely false. I have no issue with London and as I have previously said many times on this thread I have no problem with York trying to take advantage of Newcastle and the area. Totally agree, this is easily one of the worst threads I can remember on TRL and it is going to run and run. I hate politics and do not get involved but if I had to compare this thread to anything I would compare it to the political rubbish that I see every day on X and FB full of bizarre theories, untruths, and people wildly defending any little thing that could be taken as a slight against their team and blowing it all out of proportion.
  7. It will take a good few years for London to even develop 1/8th of the talent that comes from the West Yorkshire area. What you say above is laughable. I know what you are saying and I don't doubt what you say, I was correcting something that was said which was incorrect.
  8. I don't get your point. "and it’s far more likely we can get additional new players in Newcastle and London - for example - than it is in Dewsbury or West Yorkshire more widely." I'm just pointing out this isn't true. Swap Dewsbury with Halifax and I can guarantee its far more likely we can get additional new players from Halifax than we can from London.
  9. Not trying to be negative, more trying to be realistic. The above is not true, if it were then SL should be flooded with lads playing from the London area. London has been tried and tested for years, it didn't work previously. Maybe it does this time but some of the stuff posted in this thread is fine as a dream but it is a long way from reality.
  10. I get the impression it didn't quite go as she might have liked at Halifax. Given the number of established teams around the Bradford area that other teams are already in to, I would not be surprised to see a similar result.
  11. I wonder how Bradford will afford to run Odsal without the stock cars been there. They couldn't before so something has to have changed.
  12. someone explain the statement in words that a 12 year old would understand. How would Oldham Athletic owe Oldham RLFC money?
  13. Any signing of a natural backrower that means less game time in the pack for Davies and McComb has to be a good thing.
  14. Obviously the Whitby rumor has been going around for a while and most people are expecting the move to be confirmed once Saints complete their pre-season. Hansen is steady at this level and that is it but honestly I am not expecting much more from Lawford. There seems to be talk of another big forward coming in this week but we will see.
  15. I dont really go on the SL threads. Its all the same people posting on the Championship ones each week and we can have a bit of banter.
