  1. The ladies team could not pay their players at the end of the season because the money they had raised was not available to them. Interesting that this season the Ladies team sponsorship money will be going in to a different bank account that is nothing to do with the main club.
  2. It's a very strange situation, funding decided by IMG placing, and fixtures, that are now stacked against teams finishing higher, decided by league position.
  3. I know I am out of touch with RL at the moment when possibly the best championship squad ever assembled only includes about 5 or 6 players that I recognise. Also as a neutral and a fan of a Championship team over the last couple of decades, "That" Leigh team was the best team I have seen and its really not even close.
  4. Amazing to see what can happen to some players after they are branded such hot prospects. Now I know Dan Fleming was never really classed as a hot prospect but it looks like Savelio is trying to rival him for number of clubs played for.
  5. Certainly throwing a little bit of money about Swinton, it will be interesting to see if it will be enough to see them compete for promotion come the end of the season.
  6. Looked like a police power trip to me, all the BS about him resisting arrest when he clearly was being cooperative. I got the feeling a couple of the other officers were not comfortable with the arresting officers actions but the actions of one will always put others in a tough situation.
  7. I am sure these clubs think people are stupid. "A debt we were unaware of" loosely translated as "Of course we knew about it but we thought we could get away without paying it".
  8. Why did you have to mention that, I was only just getting over it. I can still hear the commentator saying that Kevin Penny would have caught him..... Fingers crossed Fev can pull through but also fingers crossed that it is with someone else in charge.
  9. Massive loss for Huddersfield and expect more to follow.
  10. Of course but still York are doing this purely for themselves, Newcastle benefiting is a byproduct of that and not a case of York feeling sorry for Newcastle and deciding to help them out. York just saw an opportunity and are running with it, again I do not blame them, but people dressing it up like York are doing this for the good of the game are kidding themselves. The likely result of this in my opinion will be in a couple of years if either York drop back down or the structure or rules change, Newcastle will have been so reliant on this partnership that when it is rug pulled they will simply cease to exist. It's for the good of the game though.
  11. Big signing for Leeds finally getting Lois Naidole from Huddersfield. If she can stay injury free then this should be one of the best signings of the off season and a huge loss for Huddersfield but it was coming and I would not be at all surprised if others like Maddie Hutchison followed.
  12. I agree with a lot that you post on here but let us not gloss over what this is. This is York spotting a potential untapped opportunity and dressing it up as something to benefit Newcastle when it is just York doing something to benefit themselves. For the record I don't blame them, it's not like other teams don't use unscrupulous methods to recruit players, and there are really no rules yet to stop anything like this, it just winds me up a little when people make it all Jackanory. On a side note its hard for me to be too opinionated on how teams go about their recruitment when the the team I support is partly to blame for all this and were the first ever Uk team to play a match with a team not including a single English player.
  13. Confirmed now as Wakefield Academy head coach.
