Halifax coach Karl Harrison has announced the signing of former St Helens junior Danny Yates.
The half-back, 21, spent seven games on dual registration with Rochdale Hornets last year before joining French outfit Union Treiziste Catalane.
Harrison says he plans to test the former England Academy star out in his under-20s before making a decision on his first-team future.
“Danny is a typically bossy half back,” he said.
“We will take a look at him, we will play him in our Under 20 side at the weekend, and then go from there.
“But he has trained very well and he has certainly got some ability.”
