On Sunday, Halifax and Featherstone Rovers will lock horns in a match that is undoubtedly pivotal to the future of both clubs.
Indeed, it is set to decide who will finish second in the Championship and thus collect the extra £250,000 of central RFL funding that comes with the runner-up spot in Rugby League’s second tier.
It has thus been dubbed the £250,000 game and tickets are already selling fast.
Halifax coach Karl Harrison said: “There have been many notable games between the clubs over the last few seasons, including the Grand Final and the Northern Rail Cup Final, but without doubt this will be the biggest yet.”

Halifax Chairman Michael Steele added: “We’ve been waiting for this game all season and the fact that the two teams are in the competing positions makes it even more spicy.
“Both teams will want to win, that’s for certain, and I’m sure that both sets of supporters will be wanting to shout their team to victory. We need anyone who has ever supported Fax to get down to the Shay.
“I know that Mark Campbell, my opposite number, will be wanting the same from Featherstone’s supporters. Bothclubs want a shot at promotion to Super League next season and the extra funding will be vital.
Get there early, enjoy the atmosphere, and shout Fax to victory.”
