Brisbane Broncos Chief Executive Paul White has confirmed that the club will be fielding the best team possible in next year’s World Club Series – regardless of whether they are playing in the World Club Challenge or not.
Brisbane are one of two NRL sides – alongside South Sydney – to be confirmed as taking part in the event next year, with a third side from Australia’s top division to be confirmed in the coming weeks.
And the Broncos have confirmed that they will treat whichever match they are playing in as a full-scale game, and the team – who will be coached by Wayne Bennett when the tournament begins – will field as strong a side as possible – meaning Super League fans could get to see the likes of Jack Reed and Sam Thaiday in the flesh.
“We are extremely honoured to have been invited to England to be part of this tournament,” said Broncos’ chief executive Paul White.
“The invitation is an acknowledgement of our brand in the game of rugby league, and the power of our wonderful members and supporters.
“We will be treating this match in England as a full-scale trial and will be bringing the very best team the Broncos can field to the World Club Series.”
