Huddersfield Giants head coach Paul Anderson has insisted that the intensity amongst their group has been stepped up following their 57-4 mauling at Wigan last week – and is expecting a positive response to what happened last week.
The Giants face a do-or-die evening at the John Smith’s Stadium this evening, as they take on Catalan Dragons for the right to advance to the last four of the play-offs. And Anderson – who is set to welcome back Danny Brough to the team for tonight’s game – insists everyone is ready for the battle, saying he still believes in his side to get the job done.
“Our leadership in regards to Brough, Ferres and Robinson has been very, very good this week,” he said.
“The whole intensity has stepped up and there is definitely some fresh energy there. We all expect there to be a very positive response to the awful events of last Friday.
“We have re-focused our intentions and attention in regards to what we need to do. I believe in what this squad is capable of and I believe in our structures and my staff.
“We still have a very confident group, despite what happened at Wigan last week. That result was a one-off, it’s very, very rarely happened.”
