Wigan Warriors boss Shaun Wane has led the rallying cry ahead of tonight’s huge play-off semi-final tussle against Warrington Wolves, saying the squad are desperate for their season to continue for another week.
Wigan are bidding to make a second consecutive Grand Final with a win tonight, and keep alive their hopes of retaining the Grand Final trophy they won last year – ironically against tonight’s opponents.
And Wane believes the players deserve another shot at Old Trafford, saying everyone is fully aware of how important the game tonight is.
“We understand this could potentially be the end of our season so we know how important this game is,” Wane said. “We definitely don’t want it to end this Friday. I think the players deserve it.
“You can tell it’s the make-or-break time of the season. The lads have been really good. We’ve used the break really well. We had a pretty physical week last week, this week we’ve laid off the players a bit to make sure they are fresh for Friday.”
