New Hull Kingston Rovers captain Terry Campese has revealed that the potential of young halfback Matty Marsh has caught his eye during his first few weeks with the club.
Campese has been given the armband by Chris Chester, replacing Josh Hodgson who has headed to Campese’s former club, Canberra Raiders. And the 30-year-old admits Marsh’s potential has stood out, as well as admitting he wants to pass on his wealth of knowledge to the club’s younger stars in 2015.
“I spent a bit of time working with young Matty Marsh over in Portugal and he’s a player you can see a lot of potential in. I enjoy working with the younger kids and see it as a big part of a captain’s role,” he told the club’s official website.
“Hopefully my knowledge of the game will help me through the year and I can pass on some of my skills to the younger boys.
“I am passionate about trying to help the young fellas. Hopefully my experience is good for the team and suits the game over here and I can help bring through some of the up-and-coming Rovers stars.”
